(27 Nov 2019, 9:31 pm)streetdeckfan I would, I have the same complaint with all low height vehicles!

I actually quite like the E400 as a vehicle, the issue is that they would be running low height vehicles for no reason. If the E400 was available with head room I wouldn't be opposed to travelling on them

The other issue is even downstairs they feel quite claustrophobic, the seats are very close to the wall so my shoulder is rubbing against it when I sit properly on the seat, if I sit so I have proper shoulder room, I'm basically in the middle of the seats. That isn't an issue I have with the Streetdecks

X30 has a low bridge on route so needs a low height decker

I know, which is why I have no issue with them on the X30. As much as I hate the look of the E400, I think it looks infinitely better than the low height Streetdeck!

My issue is where companies buy low height buses then run them on routes with no height restrictions, all that does is make the experience worse for the passenger!

Companies buy low height buses for flexibility. And it doesn't really bother most people who are tall, you spend 99% of your time sitting down whilst upstairs!

Some companies run low height deckers for convinience.

Stagecoach for example have said it makes it easier to transfer vehicles to other fleets around the country.

Oxford Bus Company specified low height for operational convinience meaning they can easily transfer buses to other routes that go under the Railway Bridge at the station.

Scottish Bus Companies went for lowheight depots as a large number of depots in certain areas couldn't fit full height vehicles like Leyland Atlanteans, Volvo Ailsas, then later on Volvo Citybuses and Leyland Lions.

Literally every time I've been on a low height bus, I've hit my head at the top of the stairs, and when standing up from the seat. At least some other operators put a warning at the top of the stairs to mind your head

Seeing an X30 and X21 together looked rather smart. Great to have a common, recognisable identity again between different routes.

I don't think it will be age restricted, I expect it would say if there was a restriction.

With only the 310 operating, will Percy Main depot remain closed this boxing day with Riverside running the 310 using either a TVT branded Gemini 2 or Green Arrow E200MMC?

Absolute joke that the 309 is not running on boxing day, how do Go North East expect those such as myself to get to work on the Cobalt with no buses running.

Guess i'll have to walk from the Jolly Bowman into work which is just shy of a half hour walk according to Google Maps.

When the 309 operated on Boxing Day in the past, it never ran through Cobalt, using the 308 route between Whitley Bay and Newcastle.
More importantly, what GNE have also done is to totally neglect the North Shields and Whitley Bay areas. Hopefully Arriva or Nexus will step in.
