(30 Dec 2019, 4:02 pm)streetdeckfan I thought GNE preferred having separate buggy and wheelchair bays
Not on the X9 / X10 though. Pushchairs need to be folded. I think non-folded pushchairs may be permitted between Newcastle and Heworth at driver's discretion if there are no wheelchairs onboard already.

(30 Dec 2019, 4:35 pm)streetdeckfan They can't even get replacement seats on the same bus to match, so at this point I'm past caring about consistency!
We shall all take note of this for future reference Tongue

Does anyone know when the bus gate on Gateshead High Street is due to be completed. I thought is was due to be complete in the next month or so, however seems like there still a fair bit of work to do

(30 Dec 2019, 4:11 pm)Kuyoyo All that'll be changing in terms of seating is replacing the seats - both B5s have non-standard seats so they're being replaced with Civics. Have seen it posted elsewhere that 5229 has had its Civics removed to be fitted to one of the B5s.

streetdeckfan is correct - because they are ex-demonstrators, they (like the Enviro400s) need to have a separate buggy bay created.

When the route was re-registered and split into two 'local bus services', the rule of folding pushchairs was abolished.

It was a just a turn of phrase, the fact that they used a different shade of red and blue 'leather' to replace a seat made me nauseous!

(27 Dec 2019, 3:17 am)streetdeckfan I got mine within a week of the event, have you logged in to the app with the email you gave them at the event?
If they're not on there I would get in touch with customer services as they should have had the spreadsheet with the winners sent over to them. I believe it's all done manually so maybe they just mistyped your email address

I don't have the app, I don't think it works very well. The 28 day ticket was actually won on my behalf as I didn't attend the event myself, it would be gifted to me afterwards. They don't use GNE as they don't like them. As we don't have the app, does that mean we can't get the prize? Thanks.

Yes, the prize is a 28 day ticket on the app. It would probably be worth getting the app, creating an account with the email provided at the event and getting in touch with customer services if the ticket doesn't automatically show up.
I know the app is terrible, but a free ticket is a free ticket!

Go North East should be ashamed of the app, not promoting it! A free ticket might be useful (although I live in a largely Stagecoach area), so it might be worth sorting it. Hopefully the 28 day ticket would show up on the app if we get it.

Pleased to see NSAs introduced on Stagecoach buses now.

They released a new app, but on Android there was an issue with the tickets so they had to cancel the roll out.

I've had issues with the tickets not showing on the app, but Customer Services have sorted it out straight away

I like the sound of the evening ticket and 24 hour ticket.

Many a time, I need to pay full price for a reduced level of service when out on a night or even an expensive single (£4.60 on the X1).

Pleased to see the 24 hour ticket making what looks like a permanent appearance too.

The 24 hour ticket is a great idea! I hope Arriva implements something similar, when I visit family and stay overnight, I have to pay for 2 day tickets even though I'm there for less than a day in total

Like you say on an evening not all services are available, so why should you have to pay the full price.

They have done in the past over the Christmas period.

Evening ticket is the one to get if you're out from 7pm.
Can see the 7pm bus becoming as popular as the 9.30am one Wink

Spent a fortune a few weeks back after the work night out.
Left car at work, taxi to Newcastle from office, single back home, then red ticket back to work to get car later the next day as MrsC was otherwise engaged.
Absolutely no financial incentive to use public transport at all. However, the evening and/or 24hr ticket suddenly reduces the overheads.

(29 Dec 2019, 4:07 pm)Dan It's been off service with engine failure since 28 May - used in service at Chester-le-Street from 19 May until this point - so yes, albeit briefly!

Believe it's now nearing completion (with an engine donated from one of the ex-Metrobus OmniCitys acquired earlier this year), but 5234 (withdrawn/awaiting transfer to East Yorkshire) and 5241 (Riverside) have been off service with similar engine issues since 2 October and 8 October respectively.

Citaro 5275 also long-term VOR for engine replacement, unsure what the issue is now as I believe it came back North a few weeks ago.

With the new GNE evening ticket, when they say January offer, does that mean the ticket will still exist after January but at an increased price, or will it be withdrawn at the end of the month?

I think if it’s a success, which I think it will, then it probably will get extended. Time will tell.
