(28 Mar 2020, 11:01 am)tvd Well it may be an idea, but a terrible one IMO.If anything, I would move the B9TLs temporarily to Northumbria and use them on the X14/X15/X18/X20 alongside 7529-33 & 7553-56.
So you move double deckers away somewhere else where theyre also not needed. Leave the other vehicles in the yard at Whitby and mothball it, presumably needing some maintenance/security staff there or risk vandalism and other issues.
Then get Stockton to run the X93's, requiring route learning. Huge amounts of dead mileage between Stockton and Whitby each morning and evening. You've also got the headache of either interworking the new drivers with Whitby's X4 journeys (more route learning), or add to Redcar's workload and again increasing dead mileage.
And then you've still got the only problem you mentioned, the 95's. Unless we get Stockton drivers to come down and do those too, maybe get a busload of them at a time to show them the routes to Sleights and Lealholm?!

Indeed. The depots operating those routes have enough capacity to operate their reduced service levels and then if the BTL9's get moved away from the route they were intended for would they find their way back.
Just a quick heads up for a future trip after this pandemic. Do any of Belmonts Streetlites have working plug sockets by any chance I know 1596/1600 and 1601 don't have working chargers

(31 Mar 2020, 10:03 pm)streetdeckfan If Arriva's work the same as GNE (which I assume they would), drivers have to enable the sockets every time they start the engine. The dedicated USB ports on the back of the seats come on automatically, but the 240v sockets do not

(31 Mar 2020, 10:13 pm)deanmachine The only switch for the 240v switch on GNE streetlites happens to be the main switch for the interior lights, if they're on, the plugs should be on, most of the plugs seem to be broke though.

(01 Apr 2020, 7:03 am)Dan streetdeckfan is right - said 240v switch has to be turned on and off again each time the engine is turned on, otherwise the plugs won’t work. Not as simple as the interior lights being turned on makes the plugs work, unfortunately.
There was a fair bit of comms to driving staff at Chester-le-Street and Stanley back in 2015 about it (for the Red Kite and Coast & Country batch), but it’s something that we never managed to succeed in doing.

(01 Apr 2020, 9:55 am)streetdeckfan Is it the same with the StreetDecks? I've only ever had the sockets not come on a couple times, although most of them do seem to 'reset' every couple minutes with a bleep coming from under the stairs
