(04 Apr 2020, 1:44 pm)Michael Which buses will Sunderland delicense from Sunday, due to more changes?, As the PVR drops from 53 to 41.

Edit:

I worked out... 84 PVR for a full normal service.. so in a matter of weeks, its dropped from 84 to 53 to 41... crazy, just shows you the demand isn't there.

To get to work, I use either the 12, 40 or 22 to Byker, then the 62/3 to complete my journey, and to be honest they're nearly always empty.

(04 Apr 2020, 12:06 pm)Kuyoyo Teesside ones have changed as well

12/39 reduced from every 20 daytime/30 evening to every 30 all day
36 reduced from half hourly to hourly, combining with 37/38 to offer a bus every 20 minutes between Middlesbrough and Norton
52 and 58 remains every 30 minutes but running to evening times, 61 reduced to hourly (58/59/61 interworking as per evening)
13 running hourly (no 13A) with a near half hour layover at Hemlington
34 reduced to hourly on Sunday timings (but different times for the majority of the day)
35 reduced to hourly leaving Stockton at xx31
14 unchanged from this week (hourly all day - with a small amount of extra time during the day)
10 remains hourly but retimed
Stockton PVR drops from 31 to 18

Hartlepool is unchanged from this week

Leaving Hartlepool as-is seems strange. With the 6/7 currently being each every 20 mins, 7 days a week, this must be the best served route in the region atm.

(04 Apr 2020, 5:24 pm)Benny But it does make sense like you can't just cut of Wolviston Court by Axing the 35 all together, same with several areas on the 13 as its the only bus that goes there. Yet the 36 route is pretty much covered by other routes (and people shouldn't really be travelling from Teesside to Hartlepool unless they are keyworkers).

But 35s (and 13s) don't normally run on Sundays but as of today they are running (although Bus Times - and presumably the Stagecoach app - aren't tracking the runs properly (so at present, 26286 is out on 37s but it is showing on Bus Times as a 34).

Don't think anything in Hartlepool is subsidised (apart from the evening journeys on Arriva's 57a to Trimdon - but that's DCC funding not Hartlepool Council). To be honest, cutting Hartlepool's services down anymore would effectively bring the question of closing it down temporarily (as per what Go have done) and having their entire Tees Valley area output operate out of Stockton - considering as of today, Stockton is down to just 18 buses out and Hartlepool are running 15 on weekdays.

I don't think any Hartlepool service receives subsidy. A round trip on the 6 is 79 minutes so even a reduction to every 30 minutes is going to result in the same number of vehicles on the road. The 7 on the other hand can be achieved in 58 minutes so can surely only be a matter of time before it goes half hourly

Shame most routes can't be gas bus and newer Envrio ran, gonna be a long process to get all the buses taxed again (if they run out during not being used in service)... Sunderland only has a current PVR of 41 (would imagine around 6 spare buses?) so just tax the gas buses and newer Enviro's and get them out on the road.

South Shields PVR is now: 13 (think I've worked out it right) - they might as well merge it with Sunderland, and use South Shields to store the unused buses.

You are indeed right. Hartlepool Council withdrew subsidies on all services between 27th March -1st April 2010 and hasn't paid for a single bus journey since! Durham Council pay for much of the 57, 57A and 58 group of services on.
Maybe Stagecoach could temorarily extend the 36 to cover all of the 6's route. I dunno, just a silly thought.

If South Shields is down to just 13, this could be managed by 37301-19 (not all obvs) but there are still plenty of 397xx out and about in the last week.

As Michael has stated Robin.  Nothing official is happening between Shields and Sunderland. It is purely a suggestion/speculation as to what could happen
You need to realise that those of us on this site are mainly enthusiasts as you. With a few people who are actual employers and can give further insight to suggestions and queries that we enthusiasts may have.
Addressing points direct to individuals is not always appropriate as that member may or may not be the best person to answer the query.
