Maybe the E400MMC is sensible for GoEY due to their close proximity with ADL.
Whereas the ADL factory is just down the road (relatively speaking anyway)

(10 Oct 2021, 7:10 am)Dan I’d imagine most of the windscreens have been replaced by now (especially those based at Consett), so this wouldn’t be classed as a manufacturer build quality issue.I do think the G2 & G3 StreetDecks have been better than 6301-07. Same way that the early E400 (i.e ANE 7501-13) wasn't great (some were ok with the right depot) but the latter Classic examples & MMC are more solid although by no means perfect.
Most internally would even agree that the StreetDecks have proven far superior in terms of build quality than the ADL Enviro400s.
The latter rattle like mad, whereas the former are much more solidly built. Whilst the StreetDecks are known to have long periods off service when they are off service, the ADL E400s are off service far more frequently albeit for shorter durations each time.
Now the issues with retarders have been fixed (a year or so later!) drivers prefer the ADLs, but that’s probably moreso due to the increased power and speed.
