There is one independent that runs bus services in the Fife area and that is Moffat & Williamson.

There is also Rennies which seems to be an independent company is actually part of Stagecoach.

WJC used to do Scottish Citylink Contracts and have sent many vehicles to the SVBM in the past.

Please feel free to visit my Flickr page - https://www.flickr.com/photos/gjm-photogenic/

The company up in Dundee I saw, seem to be part of National Express.
Moffat & Williamson appear to run services I saw from Leuchars station.
Can only presume the others must have been scholars or contract work.

Back up a few times next month, so will try and get a proper id.

Lothian 833 has received full adverts for Lothian Buses Mobile App which allows passengers to buy their tickets on their mobile before they board, check live departures from your nearest stop and to plan your journeys.

(18 Dec 2013, 6:43 pm)GMitchelhill Lothian Buses 390 (Volvo B9TL / Wright Eclipse Gemini 2) was destroyed by fire on Monday night in the Oxgangs area of the city. The cause of the fire was suspious.

In a strange twist of fate. 390 was meant to be the vehicle that they were going to use to launch the new company logo. Instead Volvo B7RLE / Wright Eclipse 190 was used instead.

Whilst in Edinburgh today, I only noted 190 carrying the new logos.

Few shots found on Flickr of the new logo on 190. I'm hoping to get a trip to Edinburgh when I'm off work to get a few shots.

I'm not keen on that one I have to say. The big block of gold at the back doesn't blend at all with the livery. Sad can't knock the value for money on the fares though!

(28 Jan 2014, 3:11 pm)Scott Most ALX400s are Dennis Tridents, so more likely to be a Trident.

Up there today spookily enough.
Had business colleagues with me, so taxis were the order for the day. I can confirm the independents parked in Leuchars are Moffats

So going up to Edinburgh soon, and just want to know the best places to visit (I swear I discussed this before, but can't find the posts) and photograph in?

Also, any special buses to look out for? Smile

Thanks.

A bus war has been narrowly avoided in Edinburgh between Stagecoach and First, but Lothian have thrown their hat into the ring too, with a new rival service.

Brand new in at Lothian Buses is BF63HDC... I'm not too sure what I think of the thing on the staircase of the vehicle...

Appears to be a demonstration vehicle from what I can gather?
