Despite the agreements & disagreements about the X11, you can't argue that GNE have made a good shout here. Does exactly what it says on the tin and no doubt will be a success if the route continues to be given the right backing and direction (by not missing Billingham haha *joke*).

I believe the occupation thresholds are the limits for buses and it's used for like bands green below 34 is good, 35 - 40 close then 41+ is over capacity. I could be wrong but I believe it's there for the capacity tracking apps so would suggest 40 is the capacity.It all depends on the groups of passengers, if you have 20 couples on then you get 40 passengers, if you have 15 couples, 6 single passengers (who in theory take a double seat due to social distancing) then 36 could well make the bus "full" like i say the group size of passengers determine capacity

You also have to take into account that seats that face each other (over wheel arches and around tables) are out of use unless you are travelling in more than one's, so that brings the capacity down even further.

(24 Apr 2021, 10:27 pm)Adrian The rules are still to keep a 1 metre distance whilst wearing a face covering, I reckon the gangway is probably less than 0.5m on your average bus, so you shouldn't have two couples occupying two pairs of seats next to each other.

(25 Apr 2021, 11:53 am)Storx Thank you, had a feeling that would've been the approach. Believe it's how trains and airlines (bar they're 3's) are currently doing it with reservations.Thats just my opinion on it, rather than fact mind!
Had the pleasure of 7153 today on my first X11 trip down to Whitby/Scarborough and back. Just 8 passengers iirc and I had the short Whitby-Scarborough section of the journey to myself (all stops were observed)

Also speaking of capacity (althogh off topic) one driver on the 8 allowed someone to get on and just stand today which was abit of a silly move especially when she acknowledged the vus was full abd still asked if the passenger wanted on.Some of our 64s are packed like sardines - I think sometimes the drivers just decide to pick up everyone waiting and avoid a confrontation or a crowd at the stop - particularly problematic on north Road in Durham, at the moment.

Go North East had made it official the X11 will now be ran by one of the new X9/X10 coach's. A duplicate bus will still be required (if needed)
