Is there a dupe on X11 today, as if bustimes is right, there's only 26 seats free on 6377 by the time it got to Washington and 7111 is tracking on X9 today.

7151 according to bustimes.org, although its running way behind, as its only entering Washington.

X-lines X11 - We are aware that service X11 has left passengers at Washington, don't worry, there is an extra bus on it's way to pick you up.

Appears that it was on but got pulled at Washington.

There's 36/62 people on it at Guisborough according to the ticket machine which BusTimes used behind the scene.

Will it serve Billingham on the return journey?

I can't bear the tension.

I am thinking it definitely will after how much it kicked off last week. I am sure the driver won't dare make that mistake again.

Dont forget that 36 passengers is the maximum to allow for social distancing so in theory the bus was full

Despite the agreements & disagreements about the X11, you can't argue that GNE have made a good shout here. Does exactly what it says on the tin and no doubt will be a success if the route continues to be given the right backing and direction (by not missing Billingham haha *joke*).

Are you sure on that. I believe the occupation thresholds are the limits for buses and it's used for like bands green below 34 is good, 35 - 40 close then 41+ is over capacity. I could be wrong but I believe it's there for the capacity tracking apps so would suggest 40 is the capacity.

It all depends on the groups of passengers, if you have 20 couples on then you get 40 passengers, if you have 15 couples, 6 single passengers (who in theory take a double seat due to social distancing) then 36 could well make the bus "full" like i say the group size of passengers determine capacity

I'd stick to an advisory capacity of 30-35 for a decker no matter who's travelling in groups. Also speaking of capacity (althogh off topic) one driver on the 8 allowed someone to get on and just stand today which was abit of a silly move especially when she acknowledged the vus was full abd still asked if the passenger wanted on.

You also have to take into account that seats that face each other (over wheel arches and around tables) are out of use unless you are travelling in more than one's, so that brings the capacity down even further.

Yeah that's fair points then. Makes sense with the groups etc.

Bit off topic I admit but what's the rules with groups as I'm guessing have 2 sets of twos couldn't sit next each other like

XX - XX
XX - XX
XX - XX

so guessing it'll have to be like

XO - XX
XX - OX
XO - XX

X's being people and O's being gaps which would reduce capacity regardless or is it allowed which wouldn't be a metre between people.

The rules are still to keep a 1 metre distance whilst wearing a face covering, I reckon the gangway is probably less than 0.5m on your average bus, so you shouldn't have two couples occupying two pairs of seats next to each other.

Some of our 64s are packed like sardines - I think sometimes the drivers just decide to pick up everyone waiting and avoid a confrontation or a crowd at the stop - particularly problematic on north Road in Durham, at the moment.

Looks like the X11 will no longer be operated by 6377, but will now be operated by one of the X9/X10 coaches.

https://twitter.com/gonortheast/status/1...7469334532

Our Seasider X11 service will now be operated by one of our premium coaches, giving you even more comfort for your journey.

We'll also have a duplicate bus available, so there's no need to worry about not getting a seat.

I thought the reason for using 6377 over a coach was for the additional capacity, although if they're going to be running a duplicate anyway, it makes more sense to run the coaches which will presumably be more fuel efficient
