I'm pretty sure when the X1 went back to every 15 minutes again, there was no mention of it being temporary.
(30 Mar 2023, 7:29 pm)Storx Should never leave a bus service hourly. Anything below every 30 minutes is infrequent and undesirable unless it's a rural route in the wilds of nowhere like the Arriva X18 etc. If you finish work at 17:30 and the bus leaves at 17:27 it's a no go for example. They should boost the X6 upto half hourly.

Maybe I'm selfish, but I'd rather be able to get home directly from Newcastle on the X21 after 5pm without having to change to an Arriva bus, or heck get home at all after 9pm like i used to be able to!
(30 Mar 2023, 7:35 pm)Unber43 Honestly thats not really the point, and yeah a lot of the services X1/97/53/54/20/60/21
I've seen them all rammed, and its not just capacity, its the reliablity, look at the 97, if one was cancelled/broke down it would be a 30 mins wait, now under the 1 its a 40 mins wait, 20/60/53/54/X1 its not a 24 min wait, its a 30 min wait, and it might only be 6 mins but if two are off in a row, its 45 instead of 36.
And tbf all of these temp changes, everyone bar the 65 was temporary. If these routes were losing money why weren't they slashed on July 24th when everything else was changed.

(31 Mar 2023, 4:21 am)Dan You have been told in the past that the majority are temporary and will be reinstated as/when staffing levels permit. Were the short X21s withdrawn temporarily or was that permanent? I would have thought the cove vinyls would have been changed if it was permanent.
They are temporary changes until (or if) Go North East announces that they are permanent. The fact they haven’t announced these are permanent (unlike X9, X22 etc) suggests that GNE still has an ambition to reinstate the frequency.

Is there a complete list of services which are still on temporary timetables?

But just for confirmation the X20 is totally cancelled apart from Sunderland - Doxford?

(31 Mar 2023, 3:01 pm)Drifter60 The 3rd September temporary reductions:With the X20/39 the branding has been moved, and for the X20 the vehicles have actually been sold.
8, 10A/10B, 12, 39, 53/54, 57, 60, 65, 97 - frequency drops
X20 - withdrawn
51/52 - route cut from Newcastle.
AFAIK - none of the above have ever been confirmed permanent.
Was that officially confirmed by the operator?

(31 Mar 2023, 3:16 pm)Unber43 With the X20/39 the branding has been moved, and for the X20 the vehicles have actually been sold. The X20 vehicles were money pits in terms of both fuel and maintenance.
Also when the 20 was 12 to 15, and now is Permanent GNE never told anyone that it was permanent.
"Does the X1 need more capacity in any sections? I’m sure this forum has previously mooted ideas of shorts between Newcastle and Washington, but is it required?"
The Newcastle to Washington section can be pretty busy, even off peak, but that tends to happen when there has been disruption to the service. Probably far better for the actual timetabled services to all run as planned than overstretch, though I can see the potential benefit of peak shorts and matchday duplicates.

(31 Mar 2023, 3:16 pm)Unber43 With the X20/39 the branding has been moved, and for the X20 the vehicles have actually been sold.Because it is still a "temporary" reduction - once the position on funding post 30th June and once it is clear how passenger number are settling down I'm sure that decisions will be made.

(31 Mar 2023, 4:25 pm)Unber43 So why was it upgraded from Solos to Citaros?I believe it was due to when the X20 was extended to Langley Park
