Bear in mind that BusTimes takes its tracking from the ticket machine so, if the machine from 6062 has been recovered and reused in a different vehicle, what you will see if this is the case is a vehicle masquerading as 6062 out on the routes.

Saw a heavily cannibalised Optare Versa (unknown which one) nearing it's final destination behind an Alpha Tow Truck on Sandy Lane today, annoyingly no fleetnumbers or registration was on display to ID it, but it had a number of windows missing.

The ones at the back of Deptford have been slowly disappearing over the last couple of weeks.

5370 (Drifter) has been fitted with a new white LED display on the rear and it looked like the front display has been fixed as well.

Given the abundance of buses off the roads, does anyone else think they should start replacing their StreetDecks and StreetLites with more reliable vehicles?

They can't afford to.
I reckon they would struggle to justify the business case for a packet of rich tea for the office at the moment.

I believe there's parts problems with Wright buses. GoNorthEast are the only company to really have many of them other than Arriva who are having similar problems with their Streetlite's.

With buses 5501-5510 withdrawn would it not be best for GNE to start over with the 55XX fleet numbers again?

No, GNE don’t tend to re-use fleet numbers.

I know engineering hated 5501-5504 / 5509-5510 but from a passenger POV I really liked them, I thought they were smooth, powerful and probably one of my favourite buses in the fleet (when they were on the road).

Both drivers and engineers hated 5507/08 - 08 particularly as it had such a shockingly poor lock.

Only time Go North East tend to re-use Fleetnumbers is the 9xxx series.

There has been many buses that have carried serveral fleetnumbers, usually it's temporary numbers then numbered into the main fleetnumber series.

After the takeover of OK Travel, IIRC buses were numbered 9xxx then 2xxx (could be other way around) before what remaining vehicles were numbered into the exsisting fleetnumber series.

I have tried a few times creating a list of all vehicles Go North East (Go-Ahead Northern, Northern etc) have operated since adopting the current fleetnumbering system but it keeps falling by the wayside.
