(26 Nov 2021, 7:59 pm)Dan Presumably buses are travelling at such slow speeds that it doesn't pose a risk.

It's a different scenario to when double-deck buses were running on the X9/X10 (A19 is very exposed to the wind, travelling at high speeds of 62mph). As mentioned above, some of the faster routes in Northumberland probably pose a greater risk to Arriva.
What about X21 on A1, 309.

16A that goes through a country side, X85 on A69 very open.

The 16s will probably get held up by snow. One of the 6s has already been pulled.

(26 Nov 2021, 7:56 pm)Storx I'm not sure why this is this in GNE forum but it's Arriva who have potential for big problems tonight / cancellations.

The peak at Amble is 23:00 and tbe X18 can't really be swapped with anything as there's nothing to swap it with.

They urgently need to be pulled off there though 80mph gusts, a double decker and Alnmouth is asking for all sorts of trouble. Not to mention the issue with trees etc.

Could be hairy on the X7, X10/X11 and 308 aswell between Cramlington and Blyth or Seaton Sluice and Blyth with runs running until midnight.

Admit using bus times but it appears Blyth has now swapped most the Deckers off.

Appears to massive problems on the X15 / X18 which isn't a surprise. The last X15 at around 20:20 out of Alnwick is currently heading North up the A1 as it's blocked. The last upto Alnwick being trapped at the Morpeth side. The X18 Northbound is also trapped Hipsburn.

Amazingly there's another X18 heading up there surprised they haven't been curtailed at Morpeth assuming it won't be running all the way.

Issue at Alnmouth cleared, situation at Tritlington seems to be improving with northbound x15 through.

On the rails currently have wires down between pegswood and morpeth with a Northern unit stuck at pegswood, metro is suspended and no service Newcastle to Carlisle

Interesting thanks. Seen 7556 is currently attempting to head North so credit where it's due.

Mind it appears there isn't any service at all between Morpeth and Newcastle since 8pm. Not sure if anyone's about in both bus stations redirecting people to the X21/35 route as there's going to be some rather angry PAX. Communication tonight has been non existent.

Last couple of X21 and 35s were dead tonight so I don't believe there has been any redirecting. A very large number of fallen trees and signs on SE Northumberland roads, multiple power cuts and some flooding. Seeing the destruction, even inland from the coast, I anticipate some significant disruption at start of play.

Hats off to Fire & Rescue, council, police and tree surgeons who I've seen clearing things up/making larger incidents passable.

Aye it's been wild here aswel I'm SE Northumberland. Can't sleep because of it.

Totally agreed and add bus drivers, train drivers and Metro drivers who put their lives at potential risk for to politely honest mostly selfish people excluding key workers.

To be honest, word of how bad this was going to be got out very slowly, especially on radio stations. Wasn't until sunset and the situation worsened when I first heard the words "stay at home if possible". Not surprised that people have been stranded or have left it until the last minute to get home.

Communication was a lot better during Beast from the East.

Why is the 60 still operating down Seaham harbour,

Why is the n21 still double Deckers?

I am seriously worried about these drivers

WHY DOES THE 21 STILL HAVE F*CKIN DECKERS (sorry for my language, but the drivers)

X72 diversion is due to drainage works lasting until the middle of next month (started back end of September) rather than the weather.

Yeah, totally irresponsible... how dare they run the 21 and 56 all night as planned, ensuring people could still get home when most trains and the Metro were off... Rolleyes

Me and my brother went for a drive around Sunderland... loads of roads closed due to trees blocking the road and walls coming down

The waves are going over the lighthouse at Roker and the news was at Roker

Yeah totally agreed it's as it if it wasn't important to the last second. Credit to LNER yesterday mind cancelling trains after 5pm. Metro should've done the same imo it's pretty obvious what was going to happen.

Similar they should just keep it shut until Monday now as let's be honest it's not likely to reopen today but I could be wrong.
