Considering the X10 is no longer as fast as it used to be, I wonder if it would create new connections/increase passengers - and would it increase journey times all that much? Obviously, limited stop serving - Seaton Crescent, New Seaham Mill Inn & Mount Pleasant.
Might as well take it down the train tracks, and through to seaham byron place. For it to add around a extra 10 mins would probs add passengers, or just Seaham Mill Inn, as that has all the connection of every bus service in Seaham. Bar the 62, but obviously you can make the connection at Dalton Park

Seriously though, not sure if it would work from a passenger perspective (particularly on a match day). It might look good from an ops perspective, but I can't see passengers taking to it too well. Might sway them towards the train or other means even more. Which is the last thing GNE need!

They've been relying too much on the product imo and the product hasn't provided the results they want or need.
The first day break down in service, granted they haven't been in service for the best part of a month so, hopefully it is just a small issue. 

Not a good luck for what has be perceived to be 'new' buses

That’s a good idea going down the train tracks, it would save using tyres , if the buses are less empty these days then if service diverted to pick up new potential passengers and new links, I’m sure it was mentioned before that the x10 is not in competition with the train as the train doesn’t stop along the x10 route and the service is not just for passengers traveling from Newcastle all the way to Middlesbrough

If I was ever going end to end on the bus, I'd always try to plump for the X9 due to it being quicker.

I think the diversion in to Dalton Park was a sensible one, but given the route it takes in and around Teesside, not sure the X10 is going to be the choice for many going the entire route.

I think takening the X10 down to seaham (cos why not) would add amazing links to make them busier, as it is a nightmare getting to Dalton Park from Seaham as you have like a 45 min wait from either the 62/X6 - Yes u have the 65 every 30 mins but you will have atleast a 15 mins wait

Also some peak journeys to dalton park & peterlee could be nice with Green arrow buses. Or maybe make the X10 every 30 mins betweeen Newcastle and Peterlee via Seaham. See what it is like.

I think Seaham would probs get more passengers than Billingham - whenever I have been on the X10 more people got on a Dalton Park than Billingham or Stockton both ways.

How often does the train actually run, ie packed out trains with no seats, trains cancelled etc…,passengers living closer where the x10 stops than the train station where passengers would have to get a bus service to get to train station, (you can get other gne bus services with the x10 ticket?).

Also if they advertise that Under 25 weekly/day tickets work on the X10, and they need to get the bus from the train station then..more passengers, as I didn't know they worked untill very recently and it always stopped me getting the X10

Direct trains every hour via the Durham coast. Trains run around every 30 minutes Darlington to Middlesbrough, with frequent trains running between Newcastle and Darlington.

Whatever customers get fed up with what would end up being a 30 min increase in journey times between Newcastle and Peterlee will either consider buying a car or walking to Horden station and getting a train...which would still be faster than the X10. Newcastle to Peterlee appeared to be very popular when I last used the services, so I think it would be safe to not piss these customers off any more?

Depends where you live really. The train stops at more places which are argubly closer than some of the X10 stops. GNE serves nowhere south of Peterlee either way and barely serves anywhere North / East / West of Newcastle either so day tickets for most people are a waste of time aswell.

It's not as if GNE exactly have been the golden star for cancellations neither or more importantly breakdowns.

Depends where you live really. The train stops at more places which are argubly closer than some of the X10 stops. GNE serves nowhere south of Peterlee either way and barely serves anywhere North / East / West of Newcastle either so day tickets for most people are a waste of time aswell.
