It has been confirmed by Route One Magazine that Go North East will be holding an Open Day at Riverside Depot on Sunday 15th May 2022.

"The event will adopt a Jubilee celebratory theme with 6337 in attendance, it will also help to raise funds for the Great North Air Ambulance and the Disasters Emergence Committee Ukraine Appeal."

Good on GNE running another, especially after the reported shenanigans at the last one.

I hope they've better assessed it this year and have appropriate measures in place to remove anyone causing bother. They don't have to run things like this, and the last thing you want is a few dickheads spoiling it for everyone.

Almost ended in disaster.

Sad times.

But, we have to look to the future and we can't linger on past mistakes or incidents. We learn from it and move on.

Almost as bad as the 2016 Seaburn rally where a police helicopter was deployed to break up a spat between two warring bus enthusiasts.

Also the last known appearance of the legendary 'Geoff', I believe.
