since arriva have change the times of the 44, 45 and 43 ive used this service 3 times. And i am glad about that.  Ive went for the 505pm 44 each time and each time its never turned up... well thats not true it has turned up, just before the 525 44 is due so  on all 3 occastions 2 44's have traveled together. Not great...

But my mate has just text me.  He finishes at 3pm and went for the 44 at Haymarket.  No sing of it then a bus pulled in with 44 on the front.  Missive pile on, standing room only and the driver got of of his cab and said sorry this is the 43!!!  He just stayed on and walked t 2 mile home.... but lost of elderly and disabled customer got off who wanted hazlerigg or dinnington.  He say he hear a lot of grumbles!!

The 15:00 and 15:20 44 both ran according to Bustimes tracking data.

On the grumbles - officially drivers aren't meant to change their destination until stationary. If the driver has had a clear run in, it's possible he was unable to change his destination in time. It's also possible that he just forgot because he's human... Ultimately, he's informed the passengers of this so I don't see an issue.

Yes could have been worse. Could have said nowt failed to turn left at hazlerigg road ends then stopped at the next bus stop to kick off all the old and inform people who wanted hazelrigg and dinnington.

What about people who may have bought singles or used returns that are now invalid?

It seems like it was a wrong display not the driver not know what route it was. Returns to the section beyond Seaton Burn would be invalid and I'm sure he would've realised if someone asked for a ticket the bus wasn't serving.

The past few evening Newcastle games the 2205 43 has had at least 2 decker dupes on, tonight there was a decker on the actual board (subbed on for a Streetlite) then 3 extra deckers within the next 30 mins - imagine just filling up once the one in front left. 7558 looks to have been on the board, followed by 7524, 7553, and 7625.

This is in addition to the 2 usual Ashington dupes (1x X21, 1x X15), and a Blyth express extra. It also looks like they managed 2x 306 duplicates according to Bustimes, which is surprising given the QA.

Seems like the focus is firmly on this corridor, and the driver situation has improved to the point they can run an insane amount of duplicates (which all looked pretty busy when I saw them at various points through Gosforth).

For the Coast Road, rather than running dupe's, would this not work better on match nights in addition to the regular journeys?

- 22:08 - 306 Billy Mill
- 22:23 - 307 Hadrian Park or Norham Road / Verne Road
- 22:38 - 306 Billy Mill

It would be illegal to run extra buses outside the timetable, and you couldn't register them as the matches are announced usually within the time limit.

The 'duplicates' did run at a 20 minute frequency just 'late' though on the 43 and 306.

Could they not be registered like GNE's 21 and X10 are? I think GNE register them down the lines off.....

"NUFC First Team Evening Match Days (kick off 1945 or 2000)". Obviously that being the legal basis to run extra services.

With scope that they can run up to 30 minutes later if kick off is delayed, extra time or penalties.

Ok....maybe something like:

- 22:00 - 307 North Shields (normal)
- 22:08 - 306 Billy Mill (extra) - BUS 1
- 22:15 - 308 Blyth (normal)
- 22:23 - 307 Norham Road / Verne Road (extra) - BUS 2
- 22:30 - 309 Blyth (normal)
- 22:38 - 306 Tynemouth (extra) - BUS 3
- 22:45 - 306 Tynemouth (normal)
- 22:53 - 308 Blyth (extra) - BUS 4
- 23:00 - 307 North Shields (normal)
- 23:15 - 308 Blyth (normal)
- 23:30 - 306 Tynemouth (extra) - BUS 1
- 23:45 - 309 Whitley Bay (normal)

With the usual higher passengers / traffic volumes, terminating BUS 1 (ex Newcastle @ 22:08) would allow it to run back to Newcastle light in good time to pick up the 23:30 journey. Still extra Tynemouth journeys at 22:38 and 23:30.

Honestly not too sure be interesting if they're actually registered or are just duplicates since they run at the same time give or take.

I'm not sure there's an option for if a football match plays but I could be wrong - interested now.

Guessing the reason for it though is to stop someone registering a service and running a token service, once a week or so and then whenever there's an event on or a reason for people to need to use it it throwing the tank at it ie registering a route along the Metro line and when there's a fault running a commercial service and nicking fares.

Re:Coast Road Corridor
As there is a "gentlemen agreement in place it would be better to run services with dupes loading from both stops at Haymarket

However make the Dupe bus the express service non stop to say Battle hill or Hadrian Park then observe every stop after then observe
