I've noticed the new announcements on the trains now state "Change for Whitley Bay via Wallsend", rather than "The Coast via Wallsend". In some ways, I think this is better, as "the coast" could also be associated with South Shields, not just the North Tyneside coast. However, I think that having done this, it would be useful if the countdowns at the stations could be altered to accommodate this change.
Oh dear....there is loads of tweets about delays on Metro.
At least there is plenty of space on this one....

To be fair I wouldn't expect any other on GNR day. I thought they would have had plenty of extras on mind... Something the bus operators could look to steal from next year

Reports of people missing the race as it took them too long to get there....I sense The Chronicle is going to have a field day.
This is an absolute farce. Why can't Metro get the bus companies to accept Metro tickets?
