I flew on my first BA 77W on BA193 (G-STBL operating BA193 LHR-DFW) to get on holiday - and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the aircraft.

The first thing I noticed was the new World Traveller Cabin. It is very sheek, and neat. The seats look skinny, but they actually feel somewhat wider than those on the unrefurbished 772 fleet/747-400 fleet. The inflight entertainment (Thales) was far superior and more navegable than the 747-400 system, and has the option of a pop-out controller to make it even more accessible. Another big thumbs up was for the USB charging points in every seat. The downside to the cabin was that under certain seats (definitely those in column A), there is a box fixed for inflight entertainment. I'm 6"4 and fitted in well, however, the box meant my legs had to go on an angle which was a bit irritating. Luckily my other half is nice and let me stretch out!

The cabin itself - I was struck by just how quiet it was. The GE90s did kick out a a short spell of loud noise during push back, however, on take off, in the air and on landing, they were noticeably quieter than their 747 brothers. One thing that also stood out was the size of the toilets! As a frequent flyer on A32X series aircraft and having flown on many other aircraft, toilets for a person of my height are usually a health hazard. I used the toilets in the middle and rear of the World Traveller section and have to say that they are enormous and so much room for moving around.

Overall, a really nice aircraft to spend 10 hours on - and such gracious wings! Amazing wing bend.

Have you had a look on any of the flight tracker sites, to see what it may have been?

A320 NEO for Lufthansa.

I must say, I love the new engines. They make the A320 look more rigid somehow.
