(30 May 2016, 4:58 pm)GuyParkRoyal DCC are running a market test on the Cathedral Bus Service with expressions of interest to be submitted by 8th June 2016. The current contract end date is 26th September.

(30 May 2016, 8:03 pm)Tom Just saw this now - do they have enough buses to cover all them, as well as the K1/K2 as that isn't up for tender I don't think.Not sure if they do at this stage, I imagine if they are to take on these contracts, more buses would be acquired to fulfill the contracts if required. It was also said that they've had an increase on the license on the number of vehicles that can be stored at their depot at Blyth, no idea if it's related to this or not though.

I'd imagine it would only ever be commercially operated if there was a risk that the contract would be lost to a competitor, and the service proves to be sustainable for the duration of the contract.
Most journeys on service 29 in Gateshead will be commercially operated from the same date as above - willing to bet Gateshead Central Taxis had an attractive bid in for that service! That's your cue, Andreos!
Might be able to provide more info when I manage to get into my NEB emails! That's where I get all my tender info sent to!
