*what are the actual chances it does*

Fairly high in my view, a lot of work seems to be going on at the minute.

Is there any reason why this has took so long? They literally nearly built the new Tyne Tunnel quicker. It seems a pretty simple job and not something that needs 2.75 years to do.

I don’t know Durham at all, but I’m sure I read somewhere there was an unforeseen issue with one of the neighbouring buildings. It needing underpinning or supporting rings a bell, but I can’t for the life of me remember where I read it.

Aye I think there might have been something, but even still it seems an awful long time. Like we've seen massive redevelopments of whole city centres in 2 and half years etc. Someone must be cashing in having contractors that long.

"Structural works were required to the gable end of the Grade 2 Listed Manse, which were identified following the demolition of the bus station" plus some "unforseen circumstances" including some issues with the ground, structural conditions and difficulties sourcing some of the conservation area materials.

Believe the original time for opening was meant to be in the spring of 2023, the above pushed it back to summer but is now supposedly November 2023, seemingly they're hoping in time for Durham Luminaire 2023.

Was in Durham earlier and the sandstone? cladding looks a right state in the rain where the water has soaked in!

Think that's a mistake, still running as before. They submitted some new registrations for the Durham services for whatever reason, all effective November 8th 2023.

I guessed that by the fact that they're planning to use it as a taxi rank for Lumiere.

Although it is good that Durham bus station is finally reopening, I am planning on being a party pooper by waiting until Bishop Auckland bus station reopens.  I realise it is easily a couple of years off.

I would probably have travelled from Bishop Auckland to Durham, hence my preferance to experience both on the same day.

I wonder if on the electronic display boards it will say if the bus is running late or cancelled, rather than using data from a timetable which doesn’t show. Won’t be long until Durham County Council will win awards for these electronic displays as the same in Nexus for Sunderland interchange electronic displays which there won awards but the displays doesn’t show buses that are running late or cancelled

It's simply inexcusable in 2023 for local authorities to have digital displays which do not display real time data. It is literally open data.

Might be a sign of the the times though. I've read in the last day that Nottingham City Council are looking to cut budgets by disabling the real time!

They've barely even started on Bishop Auckland Bus Station, went past yesterday and about all that's changed is some fencing put up around it, despite the presence of diggers, most of the stands are still intact.

From pics I've seen so far at least, they're just showing the scheduled departure times, probs just as well considering most of these displays with countdowns to arrival time within County Durham are often incorrect.
