Was putting fuel in at Sainsburys earlier and was feeling peckish.
I noticed a deal on their Gingsters range.
They're full price, but... you get a 60 day free Sun goals trial (make sure you cancel subscription by 45 day mark, otherwise subscription will renew and cost) and (this clinched the deal), you get a free Ginsters air freshener.
No idea whether they do 'pasty' scent, but I got a winter cinnamon scent.
So, a pasty, a 60 day Sun goals and an air freshener, for £1.40 AND the associated Nectar points!
Megabus are doing their free winter ticket offer (again) for travel Monday to Thursday during the period 12 January to 12 February. There is a booking fee of 50p but if you book more than one journey or for more than one person on the same transaction the fee is still only 50p.

Think it's a case of cash availability. I know I used to be a bit more wary about using trains as they can be quite expensive (especially when compared to Megabus), but these days I'm more inclined to use the train when I can afford to do so.
Especially in the summer months though, I treated £20 as two Megabus Wednesday trips or one weekend train trip... In my eyes, two trips was better than one, if £20 was all I could afford to spend on travelling elsewhere in the UK for a trip that fortnight/month.

Between May and October in 2012 I travelled down to London, by bus, on almost a bi-weekly basis to do Uni work at The National Archive. If that train deal was available at the time, I would have booked it like a shot.
I do agree that train travel is massively more expensive, but £24 for London and back can't be sniffed at. I'm down there next week, and it cost about £210 iirc. Part of that is choice like, as I prefer getting the 0703 direct service on the way down.
