I know I know. Didn't realise the 426/436 were changing. NX don't exactly heavily publicise their changes mind

All journeys will additionally serve Great Ayton and operate at new times.

Three journeys will continue to operate in each direction, departing from Middlesbrough Bus Station at 1100, 1330 and 1620 and returning from Northallerton, The Buck Inn at 0945 1210 and 1500.

According to Connect Tees Valley these changes commence on September 1st although the quoted VOSA registration says different.

SAD DEVELOPMENT COULD MEAN: Searching for extra pax but will lose Stokesley pax grateful for the previous fast direct jouirney.
Arriva have already reduced the Great Ayton service and it could be the nail that causes more reductiions.
Rural buses are almost extinct.
This development is not as doomed as the 'Spirit' service in Northumberland but is on that trajectory sadly
EVERYTHING THIS GOVERNMENT DOES IS TO DIMINISH BUS SERVICES.
WHY ELSE IS TRANSPORT BEING INCREASINGLY BEING DEVOLVED? SIMPLY SO THAT THE LOCALS (Nexus? and their ilk) GET THE BLAME AND NOT WHERE BLAME SHOULD BE LAID
WITH THIS FINANCIALLY BELEAGUERED AND BUS DISMISSIVE SET OF CHELSEA TRACTOR OWNERS.

Another addition over the last few months and not already noted is Levante S1AOL (ex FJ07DWF) for use on National Express work. They currently work the 1320 561 from Bradford to London, and the 2000 return journey.

I'm guessing that the X80 mustn't be in the destination list. It's sister XL06AOL doesn't appear to have service 2 in the destination list which operates between Bedale and Ripon on Thursdays only normally using XL06AOL.

Not that rare, it was on one day last week too. It was showing 80 Northallerton when I passed it.

According to the driver on the X80, Abbotts are getting some new Optare's soon. He was unsure on type but he said City, so I'm wondering if they may be going for the MetroCity? Hmm...

What do they operate that would require the bigger capacity?

I prefer the styling of the Versa over the MetroCity. Sampled one of D&G's in Staffordshire which was quick and smooth, better than a Streetlite! Build quality seemed to be a concern, the rubber around the front door came loose during our journey and the bus had less than a week in service!

Nothing really that I'm aware of, other than the 80/89 and X80/X89 I think the only other service they do is the 2 between Bedale and Ripon which only runs one journey in each direction on Thursday's only and it currently uses one of the older Solos.

I wonder if the current Solo SR's are on a lease deal where they get replaced with new after 3 years? Would be about the right time now to be looking at newer stuff.

Driver was saying that they get new buses every 3 years and the Solos are about a month off from turning 3 years old.
