Latest info from NW is that Manchester are only sending 4 E400s to Hull now and keeping the other 6 for emergency contracts from Maytree Travel closing suddenly (also a number of Trident loans to Sheffield for some Hybrids away for attention another source suggests).

This means bad news for poor old Stockton with the last of the Olys clinging on (again!).

Bad news?! Good news! Tongue
Stagecoach in Hartlepool's 34568 was being recovered in Middlesbrough yesterday, having worked service 1. A bus/truck rescue vehicle towed it away from Middlesbrough. A photo can be seen below:

Dennis Tridents 17025/6 reported to be heading north on the A19 this afternoon, presumably heading for Stockton.

I was just about this myself, beat me to it Daniel.
How long have these deckers got left in them?

When I heard new vehicles were coming up, I was expecting something a bit newer than these to be fair.

I'd say it depended upon how long it takes for the rest of 'em to get up here - though I may be wrong!
I don't know how eager Teesside are to get rid of them - would they put some out in service before the rest arrive?

Tridents have always been the plan. Manchester Enviro 400s to Hull, thereby displacing Tridents to us. I can't say I expected anything newer - what would be the point? If we've held onto the high floor Volys for this length of time, why would we need a massive upgrade? All we 'need' is low-floor.
Functionality wise, these are better than the step entrance Olympians.
Reliability wise? These 'new' Tridents are 15 years old and without knowing the engines in them, are possibly less reliable than the 17 year old vehicles they have replaced.

They cant be a long term solution. Surely?
Stagecoach in South Shields 34566 and 36477 have both recently acquired new rear all-over adverts, do see the photos below and many thanks to Dan's Bus Photos for uploading them to his photostream:

I didn't bother checking (oops)..!
Thanks for the correction - I had assumed a Hartlepool based vehicle wouldn't have travelled to Sunderland to receive an advert.
I can't remember if I read it on here or flickr comments, but is it right the Newcastle enviro400s allocated to route 1 may be losing their 'number 1 for...' branding?

And if so why are they de-branding the route?
Stagecoach Sheffield have received a further 6 E400s on loan from Manchester. I wonder if this is to enable Hull to gain their planned transfers. If so this would allow the rest of the Tridents to move north to Stockton.

As stated in a recent photo of mine:

Due to the footprint of the roadworks by Northern Gas Networks to install a replacement gas mains at Holmeside in Sunderland, there is the potential for delays to all services traversing Fawcett Street. Those services that do not serve Holmeside are permitted to take a diversion via Stockton Road to accomodate for this, and delays should thereby be avoided, but those services that do serve Holmeside should not be diverting.

Even those services that do stop at Holmeside are diverting via Stockton Road during the busy periods. A Stagecoach in Sunderland driver told me last week that he was already 20 or so minutes late, and by the time he got through the lights, he was about 35 minutes late because the traffic was so bad. He ended up stopping on John Street in Sunderland out of service until he was due back in town.
The latest repaint at Stockton depot is MAN ALX300 22656 (T656OEF)

A rare working on service 59 this afternoon saw me catch 16835 (R835OVN) home from town, a nice surprise that I didn't expect at school time!
Contract 39 Service is on VOSA today..

PB0002404/302 - BUSWAYS TRAVEL SERVICES LTD T/A STAGECOACH NORTHEAST, ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, NORTH BRIDGE STREET, SUNDERLAND, SR5 1AQ
Variation Accepted by SN: Operating between Pennywell and Doxford International given service number 39 effective from 02-Jun-2013. To amend Timetable.

Seems stagecoach will keep it on a night
A Stagecoach in Sunderland ALX200 Dart is on the 16s today. At Sunderland now, bound for Hastings Hill I believe.
About as rare as it gets with Sunderland these days unfortunately..!
E300 24112 is on service 11 in Middlesbrough today.
Olympian 16832 is also on 11s, while 16839 is on the 13.
Olympian 16833 is on 12/14/34, 16831 is on 52s and 16839 is on 13s.

16835 also on 12/14/34.
16834/6 just left Stockton depot for Sunderland to do Matchday P&R.

That leaves 16837/8/40 spare in the yard.
And 16832 missing, presumably the third one on P&R.

Disappointed in lack of info on next Sunday's diversion due to the marathon!

I'm led to believe that the drivers themselves aren't 100% certain on concrete diversions yet. One possibility was that they'd divert via the Queen Alexandra Bridge, a driver suggested (providing I heard properly - Enviros are bloody loud when they rattle and you're trying to talk to a driver) to me this morning, so he told me to stay indoors because I'd never get where I wanted to be.
Not great when you live in Dene Estate!

I'll keep check on the Nexus and Stagecoach websites, hopefully they'll have something on there and I'll paste it onto here straight away.
If not, I'll ask a few Stagecoach drivers that I know and get 'em to text me as soon as they find out a concrete diversion. Smile
