Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - February 2015
What has really started to irritate me over the past few weeks is the: "Check out our new ride - it's a gas!" tagline which is carried by all of Sunderland's gas buses.

I wouldn't consider these buses to be new any more. How much longer will Stagecoach think otherwise?
Hi how come stagecoach north east buy new buses like Enviro 200-300-300s-400 but other buses like Volvo and Mercedes buses why is that please.

Hi glen, may have something to do with Brian Souter being the boss of stagecoach and majority shareholder of alexander dennis. Stagecoach get all vehicles at cost price also.

Hope this helps

Kind regards
Anyone remember when the 18 used to go in Park Lane bus station?

Does anyone which route it used to enter the bus station?, as it used Stand A with the Arriva services.

The 18 came into park lane interchange from holmside/vine place then from park lane interchange to grangetown via 60/61 route, 19 vice versa.

Cheers, i always though it did the opposite.
Thank for that
Currently on the 18 and it has an annoying beeping noise...think its the dash board telling the driver something is wrong, as its everytime he moves.

One of the Alexander Enviro 200, 09 enviro's.
19195 was looking very smart today - appeared to have been repainted recently.

Usually, if the driver is pulling away and the the doors are still closing they set off an alarm that sounds like a continuous bleeping noise, quite loud. Just like they are programmed to open when vehicle is below around 5 mph. Does that sound familiar?

Both doors was shut, it sounded around the same.
Liam has broken the new announcement system so I'm having to resort back to posting for now...

Except there's plenty of non-DDA MANs sat in Stockton's Flowers Storage shed and Hartlepool depot yard that are listed as reserve and never get used.
HI why don't they used some of spare man single decker has stagecoach driver school team buses.

The MANs are life-expired - the most I can see happening is some being retained for use as route learning vehicles (ie what 22666/73 have been allocated as for the last few months). The B10Ms can last for a good number of years yet.

Further to this, I saw an ADL Enviro200 today minus advertisements. This revealed the "This is one of [however many] new buses entering service in Sunderland in November 2014!" vinyls.

Wonder if it would have been more cost-effective to do them as advertisement boards so they could be chucked after a month or so... They're not new buses any more, but the promotion is still ongoing (in 2015!)
