The google maps 'Street View' car has been everywhere in the world nearly and sometimes when I get bored I like to look at old buses on the street view - it's so fun to look around for them, so I've decided to create a thread where you post coordinates from Google maps of buses that have been spotted on street view.

I'll start -

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@55.471644...312!8i6656 - the coolest stop ever in Craster, up the Northumberland coast.

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@55.042484...56!6m1!1e1 - An old Arriva Midibus in Whitley Bay

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@54.889888...56!6m1!1e1 - Not everybody in Sleepy Valley is sleepy.
Waddington Street Depot, Durham - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@54.778154...312!8i6656

Washington Depot - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@54.910481...56!6m1!1e1

Surprised there's not more parked outside of Washington, as it looks to have been a Sunday or something, given what's parked up.
Wallsend Metro is good on street view, you can see a Pink Panther MPD and what looks like the Arriva 337 which hasn't run in years! - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@54.989326...!1e1?hl=en

Unless the street view car doubles up as a bus... https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@54.989455...!2e0?hl=en  Rolleyes

There's a Bargain Express on Hawthorn Road, Ashington. It's quite far from the camera though.

Me lol   Wink

Talking of Google Maps, the birds-eye view has been updated. It looks like the day when there was a training day at Ashington depot, with the cars parked in the bus parking area.

I quite liked that livery too.

Continue towards the crossing and you see a few more varieties of long gone branding.

Shudder....an Omnicity Pink Angel....the worst of combinations!

That's the original Quaylink Olymbus electric hybrid bus you've got from when Stagecoach ran the Qs. It's 11 years this summer since they were introduced! (And 6 since they replaced by the less interesting Versas)

Some of the worst buses ever built... They were terrible...

Clearly they've not stuck around. I don't think I've ever seen a picture of one before.

I like (good) Omnicities for the quirky ride experience but, capacity issues aside, I can't imagine them having been any sort of fun on a ploddy route like the Angel, apart from on the A167 between CLS and Pity Me.

Interesting one a few years back, there, too. Not entirely sure what it is

Have cycled through what I think it could be and come up with nowt. Of course, any attempt to find a fleet list from the time unearths inaccurate hack jobs like this one http://uktransport.wikia.com/wiki/Arriva_North_East
