5204 branded for fast cats

This bus has been doing tours of the City Centre ever since it arrived at Deptford - drivers need to actually drive the bus, given that it's slightly different to the normal Streetlites. That's partly why the launch has been delayed.

The Micro-Hybrid technology does make them quite strange to drive.  Sometimes when you take your foot off the accelerator it continues to maintain the speed until you tap the brakes, rather than a conventional bus which would drop in speed instantly.  I only noticed it doing that on 1/2 of the original batch when they first arrived at Arriva so I'm not sure if it's different with the new batches.

I agree, merits are actually nice and make a nice sound like the GNE MPDs

And is in the same branding as the current examples, So rules out a new brand for the route. ( Just hope the branded 54 reg examples get a refresh too )

Should also somewhat confirm the standardising of different batches of Solar's on certain depots, Deptford looks set to benefit from the 54 regs.
Thanks for the updates.
Never seen a Vyking go so fast, I'm on the 5:12pm number 8 from the Hylton Retail Park and it's flying along.

Don't know where they got Northampton from then! Optare is near Leeds, Which is very close to Northampton Big Grin
Prince Bishops 5213 was loaned to Chester-le-Street due to a shortage of buses. It did the 937 and 94 this morning then a brief trip on the 34A before being replaced by 6026 and returned to Deptford.
I had 6024 on my scholars tonight and, i must admit, it was absolutely terrible. I thought we were going to have a 3814 (albeit 3814 in the past) moment where it actually stopped on Maiden Law bank it was that slow - even struggled to accelerate from the top of the bank to the crossroads at Maiden Law and for anybody has done the 30 or whatever in the past will (or should know) that the incline between those points is not steep enough to affect the acceleration of a bus as much as it did with 6024.

Still got me from A to B though which, at the end of the day, is all i really care about to be honest.
