Is it true that the 8 in Darlington will begin to use EcoCity's? How will this affect other darlington allocations?

I've heard that the 8/8A is going to be allocated EcoCitys, although I'm uncertain if there's any truth to this. We'll should find out tomorrow if this is the case. If it is true, I imagine that the EcoCitys that aren't required on the 2 and 21/X21 would be allocated on the 8/8A alongside at least one Pulsar. The 12 will somehow interwork with the 1/5/5A so that will likely to be full Pulsar operation during the daytimes I'd imagine.

Again, I don't know this for certain! This is just what I think will happen, we should have our answers tomorrow, unless someone confirms it before then.

Reinstated from 1st May whilst vehicles in Redcar's fleet undergo repaint - released from Jesmond following the return of 1408 and 1411. One of these VDL Pulsars also provides cover while 1764 is under repair.

Darts 1301, 1305, 1617, 1750; Cadet 1905, and Volvo B10BLEs 4507 and 4511 shown as sold on the same fleet allocation document.

In other news; MAX-spec Volvo B7TL/Alexander ALX400 7423 is now at Belmont, allowing Lowlander 7437 to be withdrawn. Volvo B7TL/Alexander ALX400 7416 has transferred to Ashington due to the PVR increase on the X18. VDL Pulsar 1414 has transferred from Darlington to Stockton due to the PVR reduction at the former, and the PVR increase at the latter.

At least 1 service 8 is pulsar operated in the shape of 1466 not sure what the other 2 are
apparently once the lj55 variant buses go to ashington 7475 is to move to Blyth to see off 7458
What decker's are whitby using atm
Should be 7401-6 and 7489. They had 1808 before it went back, and had 7485 one day at least.

Redcar have lost 7416, They've got 7426 but as far as I know its not on the road yet. Saturday 7486/7 were on the pits.
New evening and Sunday service for Mowden is funded for 3 years by new housebuilder : http://www.darlington.gov.uk/your-counci...em/?id=285
Arriva NE buses at Diagtest today were Ashington's 4653 and 4659 both having new engines fitted

I understand 4653 getting a new engine because the old one had many faults then eventually ceased beyond repair bus 4659 shouldn't need a new engine
As of the Darlington changes, the 2 journeys on the 66 are MAX vehicle operated, one of tonight's 66 services is 4649

EDIT: the last 66 tonight is 4645

I wouldn't expect 7423 to be on the road any time soon.  As usual, Durham's engineering team have had a look at it and found numerous things wrong with it.  On Saturday, it had no wheels at all and was undergoing major work.

Is there any particular reason why 1498 always seems to be the go to allocation for Darlington's offering on the Moorsbus services? Just seems rather strange that it's always that one, especially when newer examples are available. The only conclusion I've managed to come to is, that it has a sticker for the National Park or something like that under the side destination screen.
Nice to see a whole new bunch of passengers introduced to the chaos caused by the 43 and its ridiculously long stand blocking layovers at DBS.

Does that mean it will be used as an x12 spare? As from what I know Belmont doesn't hold any other buses for max services apart from the x12

I guess that's what I saw do a trip around gilesgate at lunchtime? Struck me as rather an odd place to see a Max decker, otherwise. Didn't get a clear view of what it was.

There's plans for the 46/48 to become Max.

Both are getting new engines as they both had problems.

Is it not one of the VDL's fitted with Tacographs from new? Though I understand Moorsbus services are spilt and most journeys are not above 30 Miles.

Ok, thanks for the info, do you know when?

After the summer it was mentioned and the 48 would no longer interwork with the 46 and the 48 would go max with the pulsar 2 buses

No date has been mentioned and as for the last part.....WRONG! It was stated here in the past that the 46/48 will still interwork using MAX B7TLs.

Knowing Arriva's most recent marketing faux pas, the actual launch will be before there's any Max spec vehicles available. Though, you never know, they may have learnt from that mistake!

The max decker at Gilesgate has been explained in the rare and odd workings thread, now, anyhow: 7609 on the 64.
Thought the idea was for Max to be long distance/express services?!

I thought the same. The routes concerned are much more like Sapphire routes. Maybe Belmont thought they'd reached peak Sapphire, though.

Suppose Arriva could get away with the 46 being MAX, The 48 I'm not so sure on though as its more " local "
