Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2018
54045 has been moved from its place in the dead row and is now inside the main shed at Stockton.
35189 is currently sitting in the outside lane on North Bridge Street with hazards on and an engineer at the wheel.
20554 was picked up by Alphas this week.
Re. the x24a, would it add that much on to the timetable to be able to serve all the stops on Chester road and still serve doxford park?
I am on it at the moment and it seemed to take an age to get from its last stop on Chester road to Doxford via the a690.
Could it not go via Hastings hill, then southbound onto the a19 into Doxford and then back northbound on the a19 again?  It doesn't seem to me like that would any slower.

And it’s now back out in the dead row - facing out from the fence this time and closer to the corner.
22074 is now painted ready for its new role as one of Stockton’s trainers and is inside the shed. 22075 remains dumped in the dead corner.
Original liveried gas bus heading South on A19 at Wolviston this morning.

No idea if it's still kicking around Teesside at all.

Scania Darlington a possibility.
Not much else in terms of movement from what has been mentioned over the last period, so just as a confirmation...

PERIOD 10 (wk commencing 07th January 2017)
B10M 20554 was sold for scrap to Alpha Recovery with MAN 22076 taking it's place at Walkergate as their training vehicle, it has been repainted but I believe it still needs some pre-training work done to it. Doesn't look like it's moved since it came back from repaint the times I've gone past, so assume its still not ready. 17647 and 22014 sold for scrap to Alpha Recovery. 54045 is on NE disposals.

Also, upcoming soon is another decker and saloon swap between Walkergate and Slatyford - a second 18 board will be turning to DD operation. (so 1 MAN, 2 Enviro400).

Have passenger numbers increased recently on the 18 to warrant deckers or is there some other operational reason behind the change?

I noticed 22343 was parked up at the back of Slatyford last week. I don't see why they don't just convert the last 18 board to DD allowing Walkergate to be fully DD operated.

Should send 22341, 42 to Slatyford and use 22022, 24 and a decker on the 18.

Theres only 1 MAN now required on the 18, I would imagine at least 1 of the 55 plates will be staying as 22022 is technically in the driver training fleet and 22024 is in the reserve fleet. Although I know both still see regular service.
shame about 22014,always liked that one for some reason and i thought it was still in good nic even in 2015 the last time i rode her
37305 in Shields has lost its Dots branding.

Repair and partial repaint following a road incident.

Imagine it won’t regain any branding with fleet livery standardisation program ongoing

Sorry - this one seems to have escaped discussion on this forum I think - which E400s have been painted (and ideally when, for our news update)?

In Michael's defence it did seem that Stagecoach were having a shut-down period on repaints, given the lack of reports and my own personal sightings of nothing at the back of the Wheatsheaf, whenever I've driven past.

Yeah December is pretty much shutdown with nothing much going through, although the two trainers 22074  and 22076 went through the week before Christmas. The 60 plate E400 were continuing to go through running up to December, I say running, the first one (19670) was painted back in February 2015 with none done since - 19673 (Nov), 19674 (Oct), 19676 (Nov), 19678 (Nov), 19681 (Oct). The repainted ones have gained large off side adverts for Misguided Womenswear similar to 19442's H&M one.

Away from winter paints, (I'll try and report future ones a bit more precisely); others which went through last year of knowledge were 19207 (Feb), 19213 (Aug), 19216 (Apr), 19195 (November), 19203 (Jan), 19380 (Sep), 19386 (Apr), 19389 (Sept), 19340 (Aug), 19433 (Jun), 19434 (Apr), 19437 (Aug), 19438 (Jul), 19441 (Jul). 22020 was also repainted prior to being reactivated at Stockton in November too. If anyone can add any more for myself that would be appreciated...

22020 wasn't prior to being deactivated, it had already been back in service. Was 24102 done recently as well?
Does the 18 really require a DD more than the routes they are used for at Slatyford ? Im doubtful

A solo would suffice most of the time.

It's light during the day, but you obviously don't see it at 8'oclock in the morning when there's noses pressed against the glass going towards Benton and the Freeman!
When the 18 ran to Four Lane Ends in the mornings they used a decker which dropped onto one of the first Buddle Road 1's. It's justified deckers at peak times, but must be more beneficial to fully allocate rather than interwork further boards.
