So are they actually en route to ensign or are they GNE's?
Dan's Tweet seems to imply they're theirs.

Martijns response within the tweet to the same question, answers yes they are for GNE for additional capacity from 12th April.

Unlike the two which were pictured at Riverside last week, these six are on long-term loan from Ensign Bus Company (to whom Lothian Buses had sold them). They will aid extra vehicle requirements, following the disposal of buses to other parts of the Group, and extra vehicle requirements (i.e. shuttle buses to Nightingale Hospital, the conversion of bus 692 to become a COVID-19 mobile vaccination bus, etc).

These are:
- 9056 (SN57 DFJ)
- 9057 (SN57 DFP)
- 9058 (SN57 DFU)
- 9059 (SN57 DFV)
- 9060 (SN57 DFX)
- 9061 (SN57 DFY)

All six are now at Saltmeadows Road, being prepared for service, ready for the increase in service levels from Saturday 10 April.

Will these be in public use or just on scholars and stuff
Question, when the vaccines are completed, will 692 return to being a normal bus

I'd imagine so 692 has loads of life left in it, if it wasn't to return they wouldn't have used a 13 reg and would have used something older.
Seems GNE have purchased the former B9TLs from Lothian; SN57 DFJ, DFA, DFU, DFV, DFX, DFY

These are loans, no? The Enthusiast Area says they are.

Go North East has also taken into its fleet a number of vehicles on temporary loan, which, further to the vehicles above, will allow them to continue running 70+ extra vehicles on scholars/duplicate services to aid social distancing as a result of COVID-19, when service levels on the core commercial network resume, from 10 April. These are Scania CN94UB/Scania OmniCity 6513 (YP52 CTO) and Scania N94UB/East Lancs Esteem 6615 (YN06 JXZ) from the Metrobus fleet, allocated temporary fleet numbers 9054 and 9055 respectively, as well as former Lothian Buses Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TLs SN57 DFJ/DFP/DFU/DFV/DFX/DFY from Ensign Bus Company, which have been numbered 9056 to 9061.

They were certainly reported as loans, but that doesn't stop GNE from changing their mind.

However, as they're from Ensign, I suspect that the "borrow then buy" option isn't there - that tends to happen more with loans within the Go Ahead group.

9056 is now numbered 6177 and 9057 is now numbered 6178

Didn't that happen weeks if not months ago?

You're thinking of the Voyager Omnidekka's.
9056 and 9057 were two of the ex-Lothian B9's previously on loan.

Oh my apologies. What are happening to them? Being retrimmed?

No worries. I've got no idea, I didn't think they'd be kept but I'd imagine they would get the same treatment as those Omnidekka's (repaint and retrim)

What about Percy Main?

Tbf I forgot all about them, but they have enough deckers.
I wouldn't be suprised if the other 4 are converted for DFDS work.

Probably. How old are the deckers for dfds now
(28 Nov 2021, 6:52 pm)Rapidsnap wrote [ -> ]I wouldn't be suprised if the other 4 are converted for DFDS work.
They are 05' plates, so a replacement would only be like 2 years younger.
DFDS buses tend to be the oldest in the fleet, however with the LEZ coming soon to Newcastle, these vehicles would be the logical choice, they're long wheelbase, and IIRC have a second buggy bay that can be converted to a luggage bay so no loss of normal seats.
