I follow GNE on Twitter, and it seems the reliability is struggling lately,eg 11,19,and 42's not running due to breakdowns,im sure its not just GNE,im not trying to single them out,its just theyre the only bus company i follow on Twitter

I think it's also probably down to the fact that GNE seem to post pretty much every breakdown. I follow Arriva and rarely see them post anything unless it's something major.

Fair point, dont get me wrong, its not always breakdown related, for example, they just posted that the 14.22 56 from Newcastle isnt operating due to delays and will instead pick up its route from Gateshead at 14.30

According to twitter (since 1st June 2021):
- Service 11 has suffered 4 breakdowns - or 1 every 22 days
- Service 19 has suffered 7 breakdowns - or 1 every 12.5 days
- Service 42/42A has suffered 5 breakdowns - or 1 every 17.6 days
What services break down the most. I have noticed M's very oftern.

Very rarely have any problems with the Little Coaster group of services - they are probably on time 99.9% of the time I use them, unless it's GCT operating them.
Not a route as such but 5503 seems unreliable, broken down on its first day, yesterday & today.

It didn’t break down on its first day in service, it was just replaced with another bus.

Without looking I expect it will be the same for yesterday and today too.

Why? Would that be done. I would understand a corporate liveried bus being replaced with a branded one. But not really the other way around.

An incident meaning the bus had to be cleaned?

Unlikely to be the case for all 3 occasions, but I guess the point is a bus doesnt need to break down to be replaced.

Yeah I mean there could have been cleaned, but all 3 times doubt it.

Speaking of reliability what is the least reliable route?
Possibly the one Terry Collier seems to always miss in the clip below.

Before it went to Stanley in 2016 (now Consett), the 'old' 47 used to be a nightmare for timekeeping but more down to lack of running time.

Obviously moving it to Stanley allowed a new interworking pattern with the old 45/46.
