But what colour cabbage will it be?!

What will the PVR be? How many buses will be repainted for it? What weird and wonderful puns will be used on the back of the buses to create discussion in Andreos Snr’s car with his youngest?

It will be a purple cabbage with blue stripes and livery designed by Uncle Ray using the Transdev Sacriston No. 1 template design.

Three cabbages will need to be repainted with three green spares in case other vegetables aren't available for other routes.

The PVR will be a lemon.

What if the cabbage wishes to identify as a swede? We live in a very modern world nowadays and we ought not to discriminate against different types of vegetable.

Speaking of modern worlds, I wonder if our roving reporter from Pyongyang can confirm if such vegetables are permitted to be eaten in North Korea?

If the cabbage wishes to identify as a Swede, I have a feeling that will be Pritti Patel's problem as she oversees matters of immigration and repatriation though I'm not entirely sure on the laws which govern vegetables.

I'm not one to speculate, but I imagine, much like people, vegetables of ideological impurity will be forbidden to enter North Korea. If they are allowed in to the country, they will be allocated a guide like Michael Palin when he did documentary there.
Can anyone explain the reasoning behind the short runs between Washington Galleries - Biddick, rather than just waiting at The Galleries an extra 10-15 Mins

To replicate the previous frequency, which was lost with the removal of the 85 beyond the galleries?

Speaking of S&D, youngest Constantopolous saw a 2 again the other day.
'silliest bus name ever that like'.
He asked why they had called it the name they did and not just given it a number. Not sure he was impressed with my response about marketing and advertising.

Haha, I know a fair few locals who are still bewildered by the names of the routes, however the Silver Fox has the most positive responses by far  Smile

Funnily enough. It hasn't.

Confusion, bewilderment perhaps. But I can safely say, it hasn't created any desire.
Sunderland District Blonde 664 seen here at Deptford Depot 2nd February 2022.

Sunderland & District Blonde has entered service on the 38 & 38C this evening.

I must say it is my favourite one, with the silver coming in at a close second.
Blonde's always love the sun, by three minutes before complete blanket cloud 664 is caught in Leechmere this morning on the 38 to Tunstall

Is there any sign of 5323 - 5326 going for re paint into blue yet and is 5293 anywhere near coming back into service yet. I have heard it is now in Cherries livery.

No, they're all in service as of today, they may do 1 at a time, however the Sunderland & District Blue livery doesn't really change much compared to the 2019 so they may just modify it.

Probs going to be done at Saltmeddows 1 at a time.
So around 1 year from the Launch of Sunderland & District it started with

Sunderland District Blue
Sunderland District Cherry
Sunderland District Violet
Sunderland District Blonde
Sunderland District Silver
Sunderland District Berries
Sunderland District Graphite.

We only have -

Cherry, Silver, Berries & Graphite.

3 out of 8 have failed...

3 out of 7 you mean?

Perhaps nobody fancied flitting around Peterlee whilst whipping out their Purple Emperor.

A big issue for me is not showing folk how they could get to parts of Sunderland that GNE don't serve. GNE are the minority operator after all. I don't see why they couldn't have shown Stagecoach routes for the areas they don't serve with an advert for the Smartzone pass.

Midland Classic do this in Burton. Ironically, so do Reading Buses....
To be fair Sunderland District Blue was a non-runner.
They should just paint all corporate
I've heard the ,61/61A are going to use the citato violets

Have to say I'm a bit sad Blue won't be a thing; I quite like bird logo. Presumably the Violets will be going corporate if they're going to the 61? Might've been worth just swapping the lettering on them at least for now.

Bit surprised if it's true; the 61 generally doesn't fill a Citaro, and the 62/202 was always minibuses. As much as I dislike SitreetLites, I thought 8339-42 would've been ideal. Surely they're not hoping to grow passenger numbers.

You’ve got to remember the current 4 bph to Sunderland on the 61/62 is being halved into 2 bph. So dropping to a solo as well, would be a real decrease in overall capacity. Whilst the 61 may not be loading huge numbers, if you put them people onto a solo it may suddenly ‘look’ a lot busier.
