Probably some stupid reason like that, like they said the orange and white road stripes on the updated 10 livery is correspond to the XLines 84/85.   Rolleyes
The reasoning is not at all obvious, especially to the public so why not just pick colours that go together well.

Tbh if they send on the end connect with the XLines X84/85 wouldn't be so bad with the X46/45, but lets face it the X46/X45 aren't expresses.

Also I am a fan of the Tyne Valley Ten livery, what colour would you have chose for the Ranger?

If Go North East retain the Hexham contracts next year, I'd not be surprised if we saw an orange and blue Tynedale Links, which will tie the 10, X84/X85 and local services together... What's stupid about that?

I was thinking that. But we already have the East Gateshead Rider colours. The front of the Red Kite Ranger looks similar to the Gateshead Rider so a similar red at the back would look the same as the Gateshead Rider and then god knows how many people would go. "Looks the same as a Gateshead Rider "

I will give my opinion though to something. I do like the names
East Gateshead Rider,Orbit,Loop
Red Kite Ranger
Sunderland District Silver,Blonde, Violet, Cherry,Berries but my god is it a handful to type or even say
There is a rather small range of paint colours to choose from so it is basically a case of finding a pair that work/don't look like s**t.

Not for the rest
This is the East Gateshead Loop 94 service to Gateshead
This is the East Gateshead Rider 58 service to Heworth
By the time it actually finishes. It's already passed the stop it's meant to say

While NSA are good you have to feel sorry for the driver hearing that all day......

You said that was the case for the Sunderland lot but not the East Gateshead ones…
What vehicles are the Red Kit Ranger getting, I thought they would be getting Ex-Coaster buses, but it seems they are getting 6043-6048/9

Probably there are euro6 vehicles and the coaster double deckers are only euro5 vehicles

List of Euro numbers are on the right hand side

Are all of the Tynedale Links contracted services?

Tbh, they probably don't even hear it anymore.

After years of using the X21 regularly, which has what, 70 odd stops, I often forget she's even there!

I am probably the same, I hear it a few times, and just drown it out now that I think about it, but on some buses it is especially loud, some buses you have to try to hear it as the engine is too loud, or the bus is shaking.

I've never really had that problem with a GNE bus, it's normally the opposite where it's too loud. I've lost count of the amount of time I've got on the bus while on the phone and accidentally sat under a speaker and had to hang up the call because I couldn't hear over the top of it!

Oh I did that once on 78 from Consett-Sunderland (2 Hours) never again.

But tbh I generally hate the 78/8 for some reason. I think it is because the route is too long, boring and its just a plain streetlite. Honestly I will try to get on any other service than the 78/8.
So the 10 repaints got a contrasting swoop under the windscreen but the 47s didn’t:
