There is a 78 coming into Sunderland with 2 seats free,

EDIT - Now full

and one arriving in Stanley going towards Sunderland with 17 free.

There is also a X1 which hasn't even got into Washington yet which is full, and one at Hetton which has 34 seats left and running 10 mins late, Its got a better delay than my X1 had the other saturday at 35 mins
Rather disappointingly, there's a decker on the 78 at Castleside. Would alert the referee that there's an extra player on the pitch but can't catch their attention.

EDIT: Also notice that no buses are tracking heading towards Sunderland now. Could there be a conspiracy afoot?

Btw the bus isn't necessarily full because it says it is on bustimes. That's only the seating capacity.

Don't let inconvenient facts interrupt the narrative, man.

Plus, given elsewhere in the forum where he opined that he didn't like people sitting next to him, a bus probably only has to be at about 65% capacity for him to consider it to be 'full'.

im still scratching my head as to where all the customers who used to reply to these GNE tweets have gone? I remember seeing loads of replies to broken down or running late buses but now nothing.... is it because it used to be the exception to the rule and now it is the rule?

That is mainly on FB.

And on another note the 78 broke down earlier. so if you just missed one you have a round a 2 hour wait.

Looking at fb (where the majority of the interaction is), they don't seem to post the specific delays and disruptions on there.

But yeah, I remember loads of comments and responses on twitter to posts like those.

Why don't they post delays on FB seems a bit counter productive seems as though they want customer satasfaction.

The amount of delays is disappointing to say the least.

3939A Solo's were quickly replaced

A few 20's are full or nearly full aswell

glad its not just me then.... i remember a tweet would say 21 stuck  at chester le street due to glue on road and when you got down to the 39th comment they were moaning that the bus driver on the 69 couldn't change a £50  note on the first service of the day!
Another 78 full

Many of whom will be leaving at half-time, looking at the score! Big Grin

What we need, is some buses that are congestion busting.

Lots of congestion issues today by the looks of things, but I'm not aware of anything particular that is on. I assume some of the Chinese New Year celebrations will be cancelled due to the wind, similar to how Durham Market was today.

Maybe the congestion-busting buses are the ones left at the depot during a skeleton service?

I was sat next to a couple at Heworth earlier, as we waited for two 4's to turn up together. One leaving not in service, leaving everyone to cram onto the other. Sounded like they'd been into Newcastle for food and drink, but after being sat for nearly half an hour in the cold, were at the point of questioning why they didn't just take the car.

When we look at the public transport offering, we need to look beyond flash gimmicks on buses. Not only are they not much use if the bus doesn't turn up, but also the waiting experience is likely to already piss the customer off before they've even boarded. For an important transport hub like Heworth, there should be a lot better than we have there.

They are in cars, cycling or in taxis.

We finally managed to confirm our return to the office date this week (end of this month) and for the 1-2 days a week we’re asking colleagues to come in, we’ve managed to secure a really solid commercial deal with some major local taxi firms and uber credit to get our colleagues confidence into returning to the office. Public transport was the number one barrier we had challenges with (varying between time, safety, reliability and cost)
Stagecoach were running deckers on Saturday I spotted one on the 4 and then one on the 12

It's a bittersweet announcement.

Everybody will have to find another stick to beat GNE with now. At least Uncle Ray is still doing copy and paste liveries for them. There's one thing at least...

Lack of customer service when customers actually need it could be one!

Looks like the 21 is reverting to it’s normal frequency but the X1 and 20 both appear to be sticking at their reduced frequency of 15 mins introduced on a ‘temporary’ basis in Sept and Oct respectively.  Are these now permanent reductions?
