Anyone know if GNE have any plans for the Network Rail strike,
Maybe bring back the X85 aswell an express between Peterlee & Newcastle Via Seaham/Sunderland to cover or upgrade X6 to deckers, for it to connect through at Sunderland to maybe a Temporary X56 an express.
Or if X10 will be getting upgraded in Frequency.
Nothing, you can't just run bus routes nilly willy and have to register changes weeks in advance and they don't have any driver's in the first place who I can't imagine will be happy to be bailing out their friends on the rail when morale isn't exactly 100% as it is.
Arriva's X66/X67/X3/X4/1/7/23/24/685 and Stagecoach's X24/1/20/36 are the routes if any which will be affected the most rather than GNE routes which don't really run anywhere near the Metro; the only route really is the 9.
Strikebreaking isn't the best thing to be doing if you want to maintain a decent public image. Best to stay out of it and only start boosting capacity when things are under strain.

Nah it's only the Metro between Pelaw and South Hylton aswell.
GNE don't really serve close to many rail lines though or not where people really travel other than really Seaham to Sunderland but not sure many people use the train there anyway since the bus is much more frequent.
Btw you might not know those routes but these are them with more detail:
Arriva:
1/X1 - Darlington to Bishop Auckland
X66 (X67 temp suspended) - Darlington to Middlesbrough via Stockton
7 - Durham to Darlington
23/24 - Durham / Sunderland to Hartlepool
X3/X4 - Middlesbrough to East Cleveland / Whitby (covers Middlesbrough to Saltburn / Redcar)
685 - Newcastle to Carlisle via Hexham
Stagecoach:
1 - Hartlepool to Middlesbrough via Seaton Carew
36 - Hartlepool to Middlesbrough via Stockton / Billingham
20/X24 - Sunderland services
That's pretty much all the rail lines covered. The Nunthorpe and James Cook services might struggle aswell, but not 100% sure what runs that way, 28/29/63 all Arriva I believe.

The X6 will never be upgraded to deckers because of the low bridge on B1287.

Certain low height deckers can just about get under there, Arriva on very rare occasions sent E400s under there when the X21 ran to Sunderland:

More reason X6 will never get deckers is it doesn't warrant the capacity of one.

They can also get ALX400 under aswell.

Totally forgot about them ngl even known they're next to me, mind barely no-one uses Widdrington, Cramlington, Pegswood, Chathill or Acklington.
The X15 might really struggle though since it's the main route for Newcastle -> Morpeth -> Alnwick -> Berwick. It doesn't have much extra capacity as it is at peaks.

When the Arriva strike was on a few years ago, the X6 and X7 were operated by L94s and the 55 (then X5) was B9s (what ran on the 56 then?)

56 used the Wear Xpress Citaros alongside what was left of the usual B9s during the Arriva strike.

Stagecoach service 10 runs between Middlesbrough and James Cook Hospital I not certain but think Stagecoach 39 might stop near Martin Station as well on the way to Park End.

39 doesn't quite make it as far as Marton station as it's located just near Stewart Park and Ormesby Hall but if I remember rightly, that road is served by Arriva 63

Ah thought there might have been one down there but didn't know the number. Thanks.
