Nexus have revealed the timetables for the services during Metro Flow Closure.

It states that the replacement bus services will carry pink signage on the sides of the vehicles (no doubt using the advert frames) to show it's working on the Metro Replacement.

Frequency for the services are....

X900 (Heworth - Jarrow - South Shields) - Journey Time: 36 Minutes Heworth to South Shields, 32 Minutes South Shields to Heworth.
Every Day - Every 24 minutes - PVR 3

900 (Heworth - All Stops - South Shields) - Journey Time: 53 Minutes Heworth to South Shields, 45 Minutes South Shields to Heworth.
Mon - Fri Peak - Every 6 Minutes - PVR 18
Mon - Fri Off-Peak - Every 12 Minutes - PVR 9
Mon - Fri Evening - Every 15 Minutes - PVR 6
Saturday Daytime - Every 12 Minutes - PVR 9
Saturday Evening - Every 15 Minutes - PVR 6
Sunday All Day - Every 15 Minutes - PVR 6

So at peak hours Mon to Fri, if all Enviro 400s are reliable, 21 of the 23 shall be in service during peak hours Mon to Fri.
Very useful, thanks for this

So all of the 900/X900 journeys will be operated with Go North East corporate livery Enviro400s? Are there any other Metro replacements coming up? Go North East will now always use corporate livery Enviro400s for scholars and Metro replacement?

Can Metro tickets be purchased on the buses or just at the stations?
I still don't get the point of this X900.

It would be much better to do a Fellgate -> Simonside -> Tyne Dock -> Chichester -> South Shields service instead imo which would only take 40 minutes or so from South Shields to Newcastle, rather than sitting on a bus meandering around everywhere especially for those at Tyne Dock and Chi which don't have anything express at all and are both quite busy stations.

The time wise to Newcastle (where most people no doubt go) would be barely neglible for most the stations compared to normal since the Metro meanders around the world through Jarrow etc usually. Metro takes 28 minutes. Rather than having to sit on a bus for 36 minutes, which will no doubt take longer as it'll be congested between Jarrow and Heworth as it always is.

Metro Tickets will be available onboard due to the stations being closed for other work taking place.

Thing is Heworth Interchange is capable of handling large exchanges of passengers between metro and bus (and vice versa) where as Fellgate station doesn't really have the facilities or the set up to handle the amount of traffic in various forms. As if it was from Fellgate, all the South Shields passengers would be boarding the Sunderland trains which can be busy enough as it is.

Granted people for Jarrow and South Shields may just jump on the first bus that comes whether it's a 900 or X900. Think between Heworth and Jarrow there isn't much time difference between the two unless the roads are dug up again which is more than likely. But between Jarrow and South Shields, the X900 doesn't have to double back on itself to service Simonside or go around the houses to service Tyne Dock or Chichester, just needs to head along the main road into South Shields.

Aye fair points about Heworth mind, didn't think of that. Wonder if omitting Jarrow would be a better idea then still save substantial time for those further way, it's only an extra 6 minutes extra than Fellgate going direct anyway. It'll be still quicker than the route now for South Shields, give all the extremity stations a better service at the same time and avoid the snail between Jarrow / Heworth which will happen.

Btw the route for Simonside / Tyne Dock / Chichester only actually adds 2 minutes, it's quite a direct route.

https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Heworth,...b4!1m0!3e0 - Something like that (it's the route 900 does anyway at the South Shields end).

X900 is not a standalone PVR.
Are there going to be any different buses on the 900/X900 or all corporate? When are the next Metro replacements besides these next month?

I don't think there will be anymore metro replacement between the metro flow work

There is a one being ran by Jh on Tuesday 30th August for a few days between Regent Centre & Shiremoor

There will probably be the East Yorkshire Gemini's on metro replacement as that's what they're on loan for, as well as the Great North Run
Branding the buses seems an utter waste of the Metro Flow cash - even if its just hoardings.

No wonder central govt squirm at giving Nexus cash - they are utterly wasteful. The bus will stop at set stops and have nice big X900 or 900/901 bloody destination screen on it.

Temporary fleet number 90** are on loan for metro replacement and Great North Run

I would've thought that they'd be isolated on scholars* duties based on from when they acquired President's back in 2018 which retained the EYMS livery were pretty much strictly only be allowed to run scholars contracts. Also I think the loaned B7TLs from East Yorkshire are too low of Euro spec to be used on this Metro Replacement blockade.

(* assuming they meet contract spec)

No they are not.  Metro Replacements are not getting done by the East Yorkshire loans.
The ADL Enviro 400s from London are the dedicated vehicles for the Metro Flow Bus Replacement contract. They have enough to cover the boards and a few spares, if they run out of spares, the replacement vehicle remains to be seen, but probably one of the vehicles in roadstripe livery.
