Is anyone else having issues with GNE's tracking at the minute?
There were no buses showing on the app, so I checked Bustimes and it says "Sorry, no buses are tracking at the moment"
I checked the live tracking on the website took ages to load in, but seemed to load eventually
It’s working fine for me but I did have a pre and post ios16 update on the app

Yep, for me nothing is tracking on bus times.
Seems strange that GNE isn't tracking, but Arriva are when they use the same system.
I wonder if it's got something to do with the technical kerfuffle they had
Honestly, I just find bus times easier than any of the operators apps. Especially when you can jump on either operator into town depending on who shows up first.
Their location data feed in BODS is showing as inactive since yesterday.

Looking at everything under Go Ahead, it's showing that some companies' data is published but others are similarly inactive. I wonder if this is related to their recent cyber attack, maybe?
Not that it's an issue with bustimes.org, but for future ref you can check on their dashboard:
https://status.bustimes.org/
Checked again and absolutely fine for me on the app

It works fine on the app, just not bustimes (or anything else that uses BODS I think)
So does anyone know when bus tracking will return to bus times as the GNE app is an nightmare.
I don't think they'll be able to update their open data until they've been able to restore access to the tools they'd normally use. Their buses just aren't showing on Bustimes but their app is working fine. I'm just glad I'm not the only one that's noticed this aha

I would have thought if it was anything to do with the hack it would have stopped working well before now.
There's times bus companies will just stop tracking out of the blue on BusTimes, sometimes only for a matter of minutes or hours, sometimes a day or two before its restored, its certainly happened with Arriva and Stagecoach here before too.

Lets hope it will be back soon.
Bus Times being down & GNE Cancellation List not working are just an absolute nightmare.
THe Cancellation list is really amazing, while it shouldn't be there and a bus company should run all of their services (shocking thought I know) waiting 45 mins, 60 mins over several days then to be rammed onto a Streetlite, and drive past everyone and for them to wait another 30 mins is just a pain.

I think they have to update their open data themselves but don't @ me if I'm wrong, was a while since I was looking at BODS

Can't you just, I don't know, use the official GNE app which is working just fine?

I would except its laggy, it doesn't tell you if the buses are on time, it doesn't tell you how many seats are free (with Bustimes.org did, even tho GNE are too cheap to pay the ticketer fee but can spend thousands on repaints).

But it does show them coming on the map on the app, no? Generally I'd understand not wanting to use it as I find information is presented better elsewhere, but in lieu of information on bustimes it's better than nothing.

I mean its great waiting for a bus for it to track then it goes not in service.
Also when you are getting a dead-running bus you can see where it is on Bus times, GNE app you can't. And just to put it out there, I would happily pay £10 a month to see how many seats are free on my bus

Suspect you'd be something of a minority there!
GNE on Bustimes doesn't show light running buses any more though does it?
I remember a while back it would track them as 999, and that was incredibly handy with the X21 as they sometimes run it light from West to Bishop along the bypass if it's running late, and obviously that doesn't show on the GNE app

It does, just not always 999, some drivers put that into the ticket machine. But what you'll usually find is when running dead/light they'll have the name of the route e.g X21 running dead from Riverside to West Auckland.
Oh thank the lord Bus Times is back up, now I can see that the next 3 buses are runnning 15 mins late, leaving me with a 45 min wait as two will go NIS and then we will be rammed in after timetables were reduced.

Yep, was working.
I'm pretty sure Bustimes has been up all day, though none of GNE's buses seem to have been tracking on there today.

GNE Tracking has been down since Wednesday, it was briefly up earlier.
Tracking seems to be back up again, for now at least
Tracking is back up and running for now on Bus Times for Go North East.
It's all just inbound/outbound journeys

It doesn't tell you where its going/whether its ontime or not.
Hopefully they'll return eventually.
