Can the stop them from doing this?  I'm sure there's no signs with a weight restriction? I'm also sure they wouldn't be moaning if 3 fire engines were bombing down the road to save lives!

If it's Nexus work and they specify the route, then yes. 

Commercially, I don't think so, not unless the local authority went through the process of putting a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) in place.

I did worse than that when I was drivin em son, an nee body could stop me.
