Just managed to scrap a six-month old camera and now my one-year old camera is on strike.

And don't you dare suggest shock-proof cameras.

Argos £19.99 14mp

That's a bit too 'girly' for me, also I want something bigger than that - around the same size as an Olympus SZ-14.

Thanks anyway Smile

What about this:

£70, and I find the camera on my phone very good, so assuming they use the same technology in this, it should be even better Smile

That probably wouldn't be a bad bet for Tommy as I have a similar camera from Sony and that seemed okay, it wasn't perfect but it was good considering a paid £100 at the time.

Here are some photos I've taken on mine

Obviously a DSLR would be better but is out of price range.

I was in here the other day and noticed some of the second hand stuff.
Some over your budget, but plenty below

I like the look of this one - great reviews as well.
Buying rechargeable batteries won't break the bank.

Out of interest, what type of cameras have you had previously?

Small Canon camera: 2009-2014 (no buses or trains, wish I had taken photos)
Samsung WB250F: May-Nov 2014
Olympus SZ-14: Nov 2014-Apr 2015
Nikon L330: On order
Just bought my new camera - hence the random posts in the "What's annoying you today?" thread.

Nikon Coolpix L330:

I quite like it on first opinions, I've taken a test image of my garden and its quite a performer. I won't have the problem with dropping it as it comes with a thing that goes around your neck.
Think I might join the Nikon D5100 Club, Got £110 Saved up so far.

I recommend the Nikon L330, great camera. Only £99.99 from Argos ATM.

Not after a Bridge Camera though, After a DSLR.

No. You're taking a risk going second-hand as you don't know what condition it's in. In the links you've posted there's £80 difference between second-hand and brand-new. Now I appreciate funds may be tight, but I don't think £80 is much to pay for piece of mind.

I was talking to a sales-rep in Jessops who advised me against getting a bridge camera. Optical zoom aside, they're no different to a normal point and shoot...apparently.

Wrong...

It takes much better photos than the Olympus when I tested the Nikon in Ashington yesterday, I'll test it with trains tomorrow, to see if its any better than the Olympus.

I know someone who has a Nikon, who then had an Olympus, he said that he still uses his Nikon bridge camera because it has better quality photos than the Olympus. He tested them on a poppy in Automatic mode and the Nikon bridge preformed better.

It's all down to personal preference at the end of the day.

Using automatic settings to compare cameras is hardly the ideal test, though, given that you have a lot more control of the finished product when you use manual settings.

Down to £89.99 now Tommy
I've just bought a little camera. £22 for a 16MP Nikon Coolpix
You don't know how much better DSLRs are compared to bridge cameras are until you own one. Best thing to do is get an entry-level DSLR, like my D3100 which I bought refurbished, then work your way up - I'm wanting a D5200 when I get the money!
Camera isn't focusing.

Normally has a green square and when I hold the shutter down it turns red and takes the photo but today it is red before I press anything and the photos are coming out blurry.

Help!
Think I have found the problem, it has somehow placed itself into Manual Focus (MF) mode and I can NOT get it out of this mode.

Stupid piece of shite, I currently have an expensive camera I can't use unless I want blurry shots of everything, now where is my cheap Sony point and shoot camera.
