RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2016 - Swiny1 - 12 Nov 2016 I agree the 5s very rarely run early. On a night 5s sometimes have up to 13 mins at Jarrow lie back. Just in case that causes any confusion. I was on 6078 on the 10A today and the NSA screens just had a screen saying WINDOWS XP IS PREPARING FOR UPDATE RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2016 - Jamie M - 12 Nov 2016 (12 Nov 2016, 11:55 am)NK53 TKT wrote I like the new Q3 NSAs, my first experience was Thursday morning on 5389, 5388 didn't have them working today though. They all sit on XP from what I've seen. Def on solos at stanley. Just a shame there havent been security updates with XP for a few years now. Gotta get that security, Dan 😛 Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2016 - ne14ne1 - 12 Nov 2016 So are all Quaylink, Citylink58 and TEN, NSAs almost ready to be rolled out? The new Next Stop Announcements for the Quaylink and Citylink 58 are almost ready to be rolled out, yes. 5389 and 5390 were the two buses used for testing across two days, hence why these two buses have the media loaded. There's some amendments to be made, but nothing is 'wrong' so to speak hence why the media was left in 5389 and 5390. The TEN is quite a while off yet. Keen to get it finished though so all of Gateshead's Next Stop Announcements are done and dusted. Does this mean that 3888 is not returning to Stanley as originally thought with this taking its place? Unless 6146 is going to PM instead. No - 6143 will be allocated to Stanley, and 6132 will transfer to Percy Main to allow 3888 to transfer to Stanley (and in turn allow a Volvo Olympian to be withdrawn). Makes sense now. At first (well, the idea came to me after I posted originally, hence the edit) I thought 6146 was going to go to Percy Main instead just to keep all of the 55 reg Omnidekkas together, not that it would make a slight bit of difference if they weren't. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2016 - Michael - 13 Nov 2016 What will happen to 635 once 698,699 and 700 enter service for the 238? Will it remain at Deptford as a spare? Keep it probs , replacing more mpds RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2016 - Malarkey - 13 Nov 2016 With regards to 635/636, why not send them back to Hexham and brand them up for the Tynedale Links to therefore replace 618/619, and give them the seats from 618/619 also as iirc correctly they are used on Scholars services. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2016 - Dan - 13 Nov 2016 (13 Nov 2016, 3:53 pm)Malarkey wrote With regards to 635/636, why not send them back to Hexham and brand them up for the Tynedale Links to therefore replace 618/619, and give them the seats from 618/619 also as iirc correctly they are used on Scholars services. Only 618 was modified to allow use on scholars services. It would be a pointless exercise - the reason why 635 transferred to Deptford was due to a PVR increase of 6 vehicles (all boards of service 9 transferring to Deptford and the scholars services becoming standalone), and the reason why 636 was transferred to Percy Main was to allow the withdrawal of a further Volvo B10BLE from the fleet. These are temporary allocations and both 635 and 636 will return to Hexham next Easter (by which time there will be other buses in the fleet to replace 635 and 636 at Deptford and Hexham). Every extra bus in the fleet costs money - the running costs, tax, test, tyres, maintenance, etc. It's a massive saving using 635 and 636 elsewhere over the winter period opposed to older vehicles: Arriva do the same with their vehicles at Whitby. Think 635/636 would've been better at Riverside, allowing 2 MPD to be withdrawn, and used on 33/33A. If not, then all of 603-606 should've gone to Riverside.
