Also, some of the X-GGO Darts are not DDA compliant. Don't expect they'll have a 'launch'? RE: Arriva North East - Latest - Jimmi - 31 Oct 2014 Apparently they're not expecting them until the new year. Don't expect they'll have a 'launch'?Doubt they'll have a launch as I don't think they will have a brand. RE: Arriva North East - Latest - Jimmi - 31 Oct 2014 As far as I'm aware the E200's will help to withdraw further darts from the fleet. Also, some of the X-GGO Darts are not DDA compliant.Waste of money refurbishing them Darts and not even making them DDA compliant. The only thing them Darts are good for are Darlington town services and even that seems to be a challenge some days, I can't wait until they are scrapped as I suffered endless breakdowns endless pain in my legs and knees from the massive cramped seats and fear they were not even going to make up the hill into Ferryhill and I had this hell for 17 months so I am thoroughly looking forward to them sheds being withdrawn. RE: Arriva North East - Latest - Philly rf - 31 Oct 2014 They could use the x ghost for ashingtons x14 and 57 and 34 routes RE: Arriva North East - Latest - John_R - 31 Oct 2014 I know what you mean Jimmi, I was on 1305 on 64 this week and it really struggled around Newton Hall. Although the last time I was on 1305 was on X4 and the doors blew open on the A66... Given they were refurbished in 2011 for Arriva Scotland West and from what I've read in the trade press, Arriva are happy with getting 4 years from a refurbishment and given the state of the buses it probably wasn't worth the money modifying them all for the DDA deadline if some won't manage to last that long until the end of 2015. RE: Arriva North East - Latest - Jimmi - 31 Oct 2014 I know what you mean Jimmi, I was on 1305 on 64 this week and it really struggled around Newton Hall. Although the last time I was on 1305 was on X4 and the doors blew open on the A66...They all struggle round Newton Hall. 1305 sounded awful when it was at Darlington depot on the 7. RE: Arriva North East - Latest - L469 YVK - 31 Oct 2014 Here's a trip down memory lane. On the note about one of GNE's Vykings being given advertising on the drivers side, who remembers: - The Yellow Pennine Windows livery on the Leyland Olympians from Jesmond - The Blue Pennine Windows livery on the M-FTY Palatine II's when they were at Blyth.l Arriva North East - Latest - MrPottski - 31 Oct 2014 ALL of the 13xx darts are awful. I've driven all of them at Darlington now (1306 yesterday being the latest) and they are an embarrassment in every single way. At the very least they all need new engines, but realistically they have just sent better for scrap. 1308 arrived in Darlington 20 mins late this afternoon and got taken out of service, it is by far the worst of the bunch. The Darts have been good servants but they are now past it and there should have been a bidding war for those Enviro 200's that Durham have ended up with. Rant Over! RE: Arriva North East - Latest - G-CPTN - 31 Oct 2014 Although I cannot find the official Arriva announcement, today's Courant is reporting that the 685 service will no longer serve Gilsland (or Greenhead?) - apparently the passenger numbers do not justify the diversion. Is this a report of an already-implemented change? Scheduled times are, apparently, being adjusted. |
