So did we in Sunderland but then they changed most of the services haha

I wonder if 8306 - 09 on the 9 could happen if mpds are going to the 33

(15 May 2016, 7:27 pm)Tom wrote What other routes are every 15 minutes though? I was thinking the 39 with the Lambton Worm versas but you already said it would be allocated Solars. Can't think of any other route that's every 15 minutes and requires 4 buses.

Service 61 runs every 15 minutes...though obviously they'd be a Versa short!

They could pinch 8328 from Riverside or just do a South Tyne and have an L94.

Of course, this would free up the 5 Citaro's which could be used on the X84/5, 67/9, 9, 19 or 28.
They could utilise the extra citaro from the 35/36 send all 6 to Stanley for the X30/31 and use the 7 Omnicities on the 11/96 (but that might be taking it a bit far)

Think it should be the red ones (5211 to 5217) branded "Black Cats" for the 39, with the livery as shown on the Cadets before that plan was scrapped.

Furthermore I think the 17/17A will gain various corporate livery spare Wright Solars, I would go with 4974 to 4976 & 4989 to 4992.

As for the Blue Solars, no idea where they could go, 11/96 maybe.

Ah yes I forgot about the Black Cats brand!

I think the 17 will be branded though. What could you brand the 11/96? Totally different routes

A quick question, if I wanted to observe what was running on the 794 on an afternoon, what route does it take, does it pass through Gateshead Town Centre?

Question I've been meaning to ask for a while.... Why was 3941 deemed Not suitable for service 434/448? I know it was sent from Riverside to Percy Main to upgrade the service and improve reliability, but what was the problem?
I know the 434 doesn't seem to carry many passengers but I think it's the scholars service where the large amount of passengers are, otherwise I would think a minibus would be more than suitable.

I think it's because it is a full height Volvo B7 and some of the branches of the tree are too thick and could lead to a fatal accident and if I am not mistaken the is a bridge that is just able to fit east lance lolyn under. but lately the 434 has been operated by the X-WRG variety or 5166 or wright solars, also I do agree with thetravelman that 434 should be operated by minibus as the passenger numbers are quite low

Those of you heading to the Open Day at Riverside this weekend may spot Emma Hignett - the woman who has voiced all of the recent Next Stop Announcements (and indeed London's buses).

All Gemini 1s are Full Height, The Low Height option was only offered from Gemini 2 up, If GNE wanted a lower height B7 Then they would've sent a Vyking over, As there a little bit lower I believe.

There's also no Wright Solar's at Percy Main, There is identical Eclipse Urbans allocated there, Which are based on the Volvo B7RLE Chassis as opposed to the Scania L94UB on the Solar.

I heard similar over the weekend, Some of the older ones found that announcing every stop was really annoying, You can never win these days!

I was on the 20 and it didnt announce doxford international

There is a separate destination which drivers must use in order to get the announcements to work on the evening and Sunday journeys via Doxford International.

If drivers select the daytime destination, the system won't know to announce Doxford Park.

Likewise with the morning Fab56 journey via Peel Retail Park, and the evening/Sunday journeys via Springwell Estate. There isn't any announcements for these variations on the Fab56 at the moment, but will be when the systems are updated with the new media.

The Go North East evening allocation has changed several times since then - Solos, Versas, and now Streetlites!

Will 548 be withdrawn this Sunday due to changes?

I thought 547 was also withdrawn now?

Full height Enviro 400's and B7's operated the route when it was in the hands of ANE, so I don't see height being an issue.

I believe a double decker is required due to the school runs at the beginning and end of the day.

I haven't seen too many single deckers on the 448 (and therefore 434) recently, with it being a red thing or a Gemini 2 every day I've seen it in the past few weeks.

547 isn't withdrawn yet. I suspect it is being held as a replacement for 5292 until it returns (6037 was doing this job but it was withdrawn due to a mechanical issue that would be too costly to fix).

On the subject of allocations though, does anybody know what the AM scholars 831 runs onto? From what i was aware, the bus did the AM service, 689 and then PM service but recently, it has been turning left out of the school as if it was heading back to Stanley to do a V7/V8 or 30.

The withdrawal of 547 is still outstanding.

Stanley had to withdraw ex-Pronto 6037 (which was covering for 5292 while it is away), so I think 547 is serving that purpose for now.

That is why whichever MPD has not been allocated to the Tesco Contract has been spotted on various Stanley services recently.
