Take Wonga for example on the Newcastle shirts... a lot of people aren't happy as they class the company as a con and a rip off, who make peoples debts spiral out of control even more.

Gambling sponsors on shirts is another example.

For a long time, kids replica strips came without a sponsor - if the sponsor was a brewery or something.
Greenalls used to sponsor Newcastle in the 80's and even the youth teams would go round without any sponsorship.
I can't remember what the deal was with Sunderland and Vaux though and if they followed similar rules.

I know these days, the children's Sunderland shirts don't have the sponsor on as its betting.

I can't remember my football shirts from when i was young.

Get a grip. Advertising is for pretty much everything - cider is one of my favourite drinks, much like Cadbury's is my favourite chocolate and Chrome my favourite browser. Just because you don't like/part take in something doesn't mean it's wrong.

I have a question about the new streetlites ordered in May. Why do they suddenly jerk forward really fast when accelerating, it is really uncomfortable for the passengers particularly those that are standing. Is there any explanation for this as I am sure it's not intended. I much prefer omnicity instead.

They cant kickdown so the Gearbox gets confused and jerks.

This is changing gears. Driver must have forgot his StreetLite training. Common on StreetLites.

All Euro 5 buses barring a small few cant kickdown, All to do with all this eco friendly rubbish.
The thing is with streetlites is that wright have messed up the voith gearbox with the Micro Hybrid system which makes the bus switch gears incredibly early,
and in the circumstances that the driver puts his foot down the Micro Hybrid system refuses to change gear even though the gearbox wants to cuasing that awful jerking.

Maybe that rumour is true about CLS getting new coaches because of an expansion of the coach side of operations?  Angel Angel Angel

I'm a little shocked that someone still likes Cadburys.

Yep. The Coast and Country we aught on Saturday did that a bit. There's a driver on the Arriva ones, who is rather aggressive in his whole demeanour who manages to make theirs sound as rough as owt. They don't seem to respond at all well to impatience.

Won't the 3-axle Scania coaches (7094-7102) need to be replaced off national Express work soon? I was under the impression that coaches for National Express operations had to be no more than 7 years old.......................

Not sure how long they have to be on before they have to be replaced.

There was a man on my 88 this marking something down it was either passengers or the route but it was a Solar and there was only a few seats left.

These are done by Deptford who are responsible for the Southern Division (CLS, Washington, Crook, Stanley and Peterlee). Riverside only do Percy Main and Hexham.

Go North East have a number of service performance supervisors who board random services and undertake quality audits, making note of missing branding and other quality issues.

I believe these supervisors also make note of passenger numbers on-board and sometimes undertake revenue protection checks.

Chances are it would have been at Riverside for general maintenance.

If Washington don't have the staff available but Riverside do, the vehicle can be moved to the depot with staff available to undertake relevant maintenance.

Would one issue be the wrong allocation considering it's the first South Tyne out, I believe. I tried to read what he put as I was waiting to get off but couldn't see it.

No - it's a red single-decker bus, so this is an acceptable alternative in the eyes of Go North East.

I'm trying to think what they might be putting about the 82/82A ;-)

It has the worst reliability besides the 88/A at Washington, terrible allocations and badly designed route.

Not for the 88, the 82/A never seems to have a full Cadet/Merit Allocation.

Was going to say; Washington and Chester-le-Street are the best allocators in the fleet in terms of branded vehicles.
