Of course no surprises that yet more false information is being posted onto the net by the guy who did the youtube video... RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - V514DFT - 21 Jun 2014 It was originally due to be back in service at the end of april early may and something delayed it,the bloke who posts the videos is a bit of an idiot anyway, has no up to date videos and when you ask him a question he ignores you, he just posted a video of 4060 going for refurbishment, that was months ago, theres one of 4014 coupled to 4080,4080 i think is currently paired with 4067,and i dont know what 4014 is coupled to RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - tyresmoke - 21 Jun 2014 (21 Jun 2014, 11:16 pm)V514DFT wrote It was originally due to be back in service at the end of april early may and something delayed it,the bloke who posts the videos is a bit of an idiot anyway, has no up to date videos and when you ask him a question he ignores you, he just posted a video of 4060 going for refurbishment, that was months ago, theres one of 4014 coupled to 4080,4080 i think is currently paired with 4067,and i dont know what 4014 is coupled to Pray tell how posting older videos makes you an idiot? I am still uploading pictures to flickr from December/January. Some people have more time on their hands than others. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - V514DFT - 21 Jun 2014 Well not idiot but he is very rude RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - tyresmoke - 21 Jun 2014 (21 Jun 2014, 11:39 pm)V514DFT wrote Well not idiot but he is very rude Well as he isn't on the forum to defend himself, I will... RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Dan - 22 Jun 2014 4045 is coupled with 4027 and is on the green line today. Just departing Sunderland for Newcastle Airport now. I quite often follow his YouTube posts, and he posts some really good heavy rail stuff, not just Metro. We could do with more rail enthusiasts for the "Other Forms of Transport" parts. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - BJ10VUS - 25 Jun 2014 Has anyone else heard the new on-board announcements on the Metro? I quite like them, although I'd prefer them to be spoken in proper sentences rather than so robotically. Thoughts? I've never heard them before in person, but the video is about a month old, which implies that they've been on at least one train for a while! Sorry if I'm duplicating a post, however. Yeah - they are on the East Coast liveried ones if anyones interested - and no worries RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - BJ10VUS - 25 Jun 2014 (25 Jun 2014, 7:41 pm)Tom wrote Yeah - they are on the East Coast liveried ones if anyones interested - and no worries Ah, I'll have to keep an eye out then. Thank you! RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Adrian - 25 Jun 2014 Hopefully they're more acceptable than the repetitive 'safety' announcements on the Metro platforms and Nexus bus stations. Oh god they get on my nerves, it usually: ''Metro safety announcemnt, please do not hold train doors open, its dangerous, causes delays and can lead to a fine of £1000'' or ''Please hold the handrail of escalators, if you have a pushchair, luggage or a wheelchair please use lifts''. They normally play about two or three times! Not sure how long it went on, but they used to go "The train standing at platform 4 is for St James" about five times while the train was waiting to leave.
