Yes but a omnidekka Could replace it RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - S813 FVK - 02 Aug 2016 (02 Aug 2016, 7:04 pm)biglugs@yahoo.com wrote Yes but a omnidekka Could replace it Yeah, 4896 is only a temporary replacement. An Omnidekka is likely to replace 4896 as a more permanent replacement. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - Adrian - 02 Aug 2016 I'd hope all the B10s were gone this time next year. They were a great bus of their time, but that's in the past now. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - R852 PRG - 02 Aug 2016 Using the logic of float or reinstated vehicles, it should be 4896, 4907, 4925, 5167 and 5170 to go next. But then others might go before them, if they're in similar circumstances to 4909. I agree, There is a few god runners in the batch but the Majority are shot, Id think they'd be a welcome addition to a Independent operator looking for cheap DDA Replacements though. Some are to be withdrawn when the metro replacements finnish. 5170 did the 14:55 of eldon Square to consett service x71 looks like its no longer at Washington RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - S813 FVK - 02 Aug 2016 (02 Aug 2016, 8:09 pm)biglugs@yahoo.com wrote Some are to be withdrawn when the metro replacements finnish. 5170 has been at Stanley for a few days now. I can't see it being there for much longer considering it is part of the 82s PVR at Washington. No trouble going up A692's Watergate Bank! It's powerful, but you need ear plugs! RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - Ambassador - 02 Aug 2016 Any chance of the demo/loan/whatever we're calling it ending up trialing on the 21? Hybrids due off next year and the two 2006 models are a bit ropey RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - LeeCalder - 02 Aug 2016 (02 Aug 2016, 8:54 pm)Ambassador wrote Any chance of the demo/loan/whatever we're calling it ending up trialing on the 21? Hybrids due off next year and the two 2006 models are a bit ropey I'd still rather have a 2005 model! The journey goes a lot quicker, haha. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - Jamie M - 03 Aug 2016 Are GNE passes (key/mticket) valid on Nexus 900 if GNE has been awarded the service? How many more Onidekka's are GNE getting from Brighton? Cheers Jamie RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - South Tyne Lad - 03 Aug 2016 Anyone else on here think that the B5TL ( 793 ) is a lot better than the Streetdeck? I certainly think it's better than the Streetdeck. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - Andreos1 - 03 Aug 2016 (03 Aug 2016, 1:57 pm)South Tyne Lad wrote Anyone else on here think that the B5TL ( 793 ) is a lot better than the Streetdeck? Had my first go on a Streetdeck at the weekend. Didn't blag a table seat unfortunately. Although this ride seemed slow (struggled up the A1 sliproad), I have seen others overtake Omni's on the same section. It did sound and feel more powerful than the hybrids do. I didn't rattle or sound windy, ike the B9's with the opening front/side windows tend to do. The small windows and excess of frames are obviously for a reason, but do my head in if not in the right seat (similar to Voyagers). Haven't been on the demo yet due to work commitments and after seeing the traffic chaos in and around Blaydon tonight, a ride on it isn't likely to be tonight! I had a go on the EYMS B5TL/EvoSeti yesterday afternoon from Blaydon to Newcastle and I quite liked it, seemed to perform alright although sadly there isn't really any hills on that section of the route to see how it does on them which is a shame as I'd quite like to see how it does on hills. Pity it probably doesn't have a Tachno as I think it would be interesting to see how it would do on the X9/X10. Only tried it out between MetroCentre and Eldon Square, but it seemed pretty decent. Hated the seats, mind. Rock hard. I didn't really like 793, pretty mediocre ride quality and not exactly powerful. https://flic.kr/p/KML7yK On another note, I dislike the newer omnidekkas (3996 especially). 3996 sounds and feels like NK06JXC, which I also rode today. Sluggish and extremely loud. YN04GJE/YN04GJF are by far the best of the omnidekkas - they actually get shifting and engine audio isn't obnoxious. A vehicle hit the bridge that hangs over the chain road that gets McDonalds to the social club. Chain road was completely closed both ways and could be for some time because it's reportedly in potential danger of falling. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - Tom - 03 Aug 2016 How long is the Evoseti demo here for? Hopefully will get a chance to go on it before it goes back to EYMS. Can't think of any other reason why 5438 would be in a Beamish livery, unless Beamish are wanting the museum promoted in other areas. Advertising links to Beamish from Durham and Sunderland. Couldn't get a pic, unfortunately. Big'un's camera was flat and littl'un was too restess for us to go out and grab a shot with my phone. |
