RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2016 - V514DFT - 13 Nov 2016 I think the Newcastle network needs looking at,i dunno what is but ever since the big changes back in 2003(i think it was),its always felt like something is missing, but cant put my finger on it RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2016 - markydh - 13 Nov 2016 It's such a cash cow, it's been left to its own devices. The only real improvement I can think of would be a link from west Newcastle to the Airport. It's such a pain having to go to town then back again! RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2016 - Dan - 13 Nov 2016 27507 is currently at Sunderland - presumably for repaint prior to onward transfer. But it is part of a full UK wide savings drive the company is doing. They should swap it with the 12 as it doesn't need a service every 10 minutes if they want to make savings (would reduce the PVR by 2 or 3) and also provide better links from Walker to Cobalt and Silverlink. Edit: A reminder the first drop-in session, is taking place tomorrow at Sunderland City Library and Arts Centre between 11am and 2pm... the next one is on Thursday, at the same time. I might have a pop down and say my thoughts on it. Probables be all the North East soon, but its a shame that all of a sudden after 12 or so years of no changes.. 2 sets of changes within a year. Hence why everyone is not happy with the changes, i'm not really bothered as long as the first 18 on a weekday from Grindon will still run. Any later start (after 8am), i can go via the town, don't mind. I'm not convinced it will be a 'cut' overall, yes some services are being reduced but offset that with a couple of services increasing in frequency, plus the Newcastle route, the overall PVR may remain about the same. Bizarre how many people are complaining online about the 18/19 given how few ever seem to be onboard... going from the number of comments on the Echo page and elsewhere, every bus should be overflowing with passengers! RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2016 - Michael - 14 Nov 2016 (14 Nov 2016, 11:03 pm)stagecoachbusdepot wrote I'm not convinced it will be a 'cut' overall, yes some services are being reduced but offset that with a couple of services increasing in frequency, plus the Newcastle route, the overall PVR may remain about the same. I got the 1:44pm bus today from the bridge towards Grindon and it was busy, only a few seats left. But i think thats harsh because not everyone will travel on that bus at the same time, i use it at different times of the day, most days of the week and it changes on a weekly bases for how many passengers is on. This morning, i got the 6:46am bus from Grindon Lane to the bridge, it had 10 passengers on, where as on Friday, it had 3 people on. Still think it should remain half hourly from first bus to 9am, then 3pm to last bus... during the day i don't mind, i can via the town and get the 8 or 36. RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2016 - Ambassador - 15 Nov 2016 If we're honest you can't really compare Newcastle vs Sunderland in terms of network. It's like comparing Newcastle to Manchester. It's a total different kettle of fish. Re-22 anything heading in the vague direction of Cobalt suffers from all 3 operators. The thing with Newcastle is routes like 1, 38, 10, 11, 30/31/36, 39/40 (to name a few) are established historically successful routes serving big populations in a growing diverse city. There's very little you can change with the majority of that network unless you fiiddle with peripheral routes like the 35, 18, etc RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2016 - Buses98 - 15 Nov 2016 it has been noted that 22574 SP08 DDA has entered service |
