Can't see any reason for them to be moving out of Percy Main?

Ok...what colour will 5292-5297 be repainted into? As 5291 was repainted second, I was going to assume (although i know i shouldn't! Tongue) that 5291 was the 'barrier' of the blue repaints and anything above will be repainted a different colour.

I wonder if 5337/5338 will be painted to form part of the PVR for the new Stanley services.

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2015 - park5354 - 17 Sep 2015

9108 was parked inside Saltmeadows at 17:30.

(14 Sep 2015, 3:23 pm)Dan wrote Volvo B7TL 3967 and Volvo B10BLE 4916 at Riverside have gained front LED destinations (thus meaning that the former has a complete set of LEDs - the latter still retains flipdot side/rear).

(15 Sep 2015, 12:38 pm)Dan wrote 6008/32 now have front LED destinations.

Volvo B10BLEs 4917 and 4919 have gained front LED destinations (retaining their flipdot side/rear displays).

"Highwayman" branded Scania L94 4940 has gained a front LED colour destination and LED side and rear displays too.

Why are Renowns getting LEDs and was 4940 the last (and only) flipdot Solar?

I'm sure there is a Fast Cats one with a flipdot?

4955 IIRC forgot about that.

(17 Sep 2015, 7:00 am)DanPicken wrote Why are Renowns getting LEDs and was 4940 the last (and only) flipdot Solar?

Why not? There are sufficient front LED displays in withdrawn vehicles for all Volvo B10BLEs and Volvo B7TLs in the fleet to have their current flipdots replaced. The only vehicles with front LEDs in a few weeks time will be Volvo Olympians and Lolynes.

Yes, 4940 was the last Scania L94 with a front flipdot destination.

It was 4954 (previously a Fast Cat but has been a Prince Bishop since January), but this gained a full set of LED destinations (including a colour front) from Volvo B10BLE 4845 back in April - this was noted here. Stanley's Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President 6009 (V209 LGC) is the latest to gain a front LED destination. It presently retains its flipdot side display (as per most of the Volvo B7/Presidents).

In other news: Riverside's Volvo B10BLE/Wright Renown 4906 (W906 RBB) is the latest to go to Thorntons for DDA modifications.

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2015 - Michael - 17 Sep 2015

According to GNE it takes 50 minutes from Washington Galleries to Sunderland hospital on the 2...pretty sure it takes just over 30 minutes..........

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2015 - S813 FVK - 17 Sep 2015

6009 was on scholars tonight with its LED front dest (as Dan mentioned)

3814 also broke down on Maiden Law Bank - its water cap burst off and, as it was too dangerous to pick it up as it was in the second lane, a replacement bus was called (3880)

Another rumour (although it does come from a reliable source):

Due to an incident involving police (don't know the ins and outs of it myself), scholars service 841 (St Thomas More, Blaydon) will be swapped with Stanley Travel's 876 (Charles Thorp, Ryton).

does anyone know what will happen to percy mains older ferry branded buses. are they going to be withdrawn soon?

Yes, 4940 was the last Scania L94 with a front flipdot destination.

Volvo B7TLs 6015, 6023, 6030, 6031 and 6033 at Percy Main have had their front flipdot displays swapped for LEDs. Likewise, Volvo B7TL 6027 at Washington has also had its front flipdot display swapped for LED.

Former "Highwayman" branded Scania L94 5218 is now at Saltmeadows for repaint, ahead of service changes next month.

Deleted my last post, as it was wrong...................... Tongue

GNE proposals was:

64/64A: Run between Gateshead, Rose Street and Yetholm Road only.

Service 96: Extended to Newcastle Monday-Saturday daytimes instead of 98/98A, it also means Ravensworth Road and Wellington Road benefit from a direct service to Newcastle.

Service 97: Increased to every 10 minutes from Newcastle to Fellside Park via Gateshead and Whickham Highway, every 20 minutes a bus would continue to the Metrocentre

Service 98/98A: Would continue to run from Whickham to Newcastle, only at the busiest times of day when the majority of passengers are travelling.
--------------
So here is what i think (updated since the last one i did):

Looking at repaints, the 51 reg "Highwayman" scania's haven't being repainted so far, so i think these might be new allocations for the 96/96A services: (Numbers of services might change to)

95/64/64A - they could be interworking with the new 98/98A service...(only if its peak only) - B10's
96/96A - Highwayman Scania's - 51 reg
97 - New/newer buses in the future.... temporarily use "Go North East" buses in the fleet.
98/98A - looks to be peak only...as its a loop service.. not sure how it would work during the day for a service... B10's - could interwork with the 64/64A/95 at peak times... not sure how it will work...
-------------
All of the above is to be confirmed - nothing confirmed... just some wild guesses! haha

The 95/64/64A is an idea for Solos... Especially as the PVR would only be two.

Ye, could be, what are the passenger numbers like, both aren't very long routes and tbh i think both are pointless, they could be merged with current routes around the area's they serve...

The 64/64A/95 might get withdrawn yet...  Tongue

The 64/64A never normally have many on, but the 95 is a bit better.

3887s NIS display...it scrolls because the number box will still be there on the destination program. Not too much of an issue with the destination updates coming up though.

Please elaborate? No 'NOT IN SERVICE' display should scroll.

The square where the number would usually be was blank but the 'NOT IN SERVICE' was scrolling along where the destination and other details are shown, not actually using the number box.

The diagram below should explain what i mean just incase the explanation above doesn't (just to state the obvious but the NOT IN SERVICE ends before it starts again - it is just for illustrative purposes):
