I would hope so, last years was terrible with just the logo.

I quite liked last years livery. I think anything more would be too much.

I doubt they will want them to look identical to the new Tynedale Links brand too. Just have to wait and see, i guess.

I hope its not going to be plain yellow...

Hopefully the brand is decent though.

The livery of the Classic Coaches AD 122 was very good IMO.

I can understand why GNE kept the MPDs in yellow base livery (to allow flexibility?) at a time when the viability of the route was in doubt.

I like that livery to, hopefully its something like that.

Seems a few routes will have a fleet allocation change in the next couple months, Any news on what the 5 and 50 will use when they start to interwork?

I would expect more 'extravagant' branding than last year.
Are they still allocated to the 238 for now

I would imagine so, its a month today till it starts (25.3.16), the next couple of weeks they'll probables go in for a repaint.

There are many ways in which a bigger, newer house with more bedrooms and less maintenance needed would suit us better than the one we live in. That doesn't mean that we will or can go out tomorrow and buy a nice 4 bed newbuild, though. For several reasons, finance being just one of them.

Likewise, GNE will have good reasons why they can't just go out and replace every single MPD with a shiny new Solo SR before Easter.

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - February 2016 - G-CPTN - 25 Feb 2016

The logical replacement for the MPD would be an Enviro 200.

Do GNE have any Enviro 200s?

The Optare SR may well be a better replacement where a small vehicle is called for.

They don't, they should get some though but it looks like they'll be sticking too Streetlites.

Is it because GNE don't want to deal with Alexander Dennis?

Wright seem to be the preferred body-builder.

That's ancient history

I think we'll continue to see a gradual minibus fleet replacement with Optare Solo SRs over the next year or two.

It makes sense to stick with what you know, and Go North East must have a pretty good relationship with Optare given that three vehicles are presently on loan from them.

Yes, the relationship with the 'supplier' (whether it be the manufacturer or the dealer) is an important part of the 'deal'.

One way that Volvo got a hold onto the UK truck market back in the late 1960s /early 1970s was to provide operators with demonstrators on loan.

Optare do have a strong relationship ship within the company back in the early 90s it was Delta, Spectra, Solo, Excel, Sigma, Metrorider, nowadays it's the Solo SR, Tempo, Versa, Metrocity, Metrodecker would love to see a Metrodecker on demonstration purposes around here to see how it performs and then possibly future orders I used to like the Delta when I was a Bairn and Spectra I would often ride the Excel and Sigma round where I live canny bus back in the day

I used to regularly use the Alexander ps's at stagecoach lovely back in the day

Optare 'took over' the MCW vehicle designs when MCW closed, including design and manufacturing personnel - thus the Metro names.
