Will this new system be on NSAs or exterior destinations? Also, on X5 dests? Just a trial for now, based on feedback and requests. And really annoying! We all know that the solar have to remain in service until at least next year (those fitted with the modifications). Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to what will be ordered for replacement? I'm guessing it will be gradual replacement with cascades of possible buses already in service. There was just nothing mentioned in other threads so I thought you would be the guys to ask because at least the first order would probably be placed within the next 6 months or so.. Not sure what would be on order, only service which could get new buses is the Quaylink or Citylink 58, or both as i would imagine they do quite well? (not from the area so no idea), 25 Scania's need replacing at Riverside 38 Versa's at Riverside: 5377 - 84 (8) - 58 5385 - 5388, 8310 - 8318, 8329 - 8338 (23) - Quaylink 5389, 8306, 8308, 8309, 8327, 8328 (6) - Go North East Streetlites ordered: 31 8 for the 58 + 1 spare 23 for the Quaylink + 3 spare --- Cascades (all to be in Go North East) 5377 - 84 to Loop (5385 as a spare) 8310 – 16 to Chester (8317/18/19 as spares) 8329 – 8338 (10) to Green Arrow (8327/8328 as spares) 8306, 8308 – 67/69 86,87,88 and 89 spares at Riverside Total spares: Chester – 3 Riverside – 8 (1 to be used on the X66 on a Saturday) All above removes the Scania’s from service from Riverside and Chester expect for 5228-32 which will go Percy Main to replace the Eclipses. I have tried to sort out allocations, so every service has the same style Versa and in number ordering (a tad like the Citaro's) Deptford's Scania's removed later on. Until EYMS services and the operations have been analysed fully by GNE management, I can't see them getting any new vehicles at all and even then, the inevitable consolidation may see internal cascades between EYMS services. Are there any EYMS vehicles that would warrent a move north or even fit in to the existing fleet? Unless all the Enviro's come up, I can't see the odd one slipping in to service up here. Geminis? Possibly, but what would replace them down there? Last time GNE gained the 558 it was extended to Newcastle and the service re-numbered X98, shouldn’t think there would do this again, maybe extend from seaburn to Sunderland and try gain passengers where stagecoach took off their circular section of route and tried to cram all there passengers on the E1. I doubt it, probably was route learning the Park & Ride areas for the Tall Ships and running back to wherever they're based. There's a lot of drivers from outside the Sunderland area taking part. Not exactly going to show the North East in the best light with all the second hand buses in different liveries running park and ride, have they even been internally cleaned RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - July 2018 - Dan - 08 Jul 2018 (08 Jul 2018, 7:52 pm)makem1 wrote Not exactly going to show the North East in the best light with all the second hand buses in different liveries running park and ride, have they even been internally cleaned Yes, they've been cleaned. Most are in pretty good condition internally - suspect it's not long since they've last had a re-trim in London. Externally having all of the different liveries isn't the best, but little in the way that Go North East could do to get them all repainted in time. They are low-cost budget buses bought for a very specific purpose. It would have added a lot of extra cost in to have them all repainted etc before Tall Ships. Are they alright to drive? There was a lot of bad press about the Stanley Gemini 2s that they'd be absolute sheds, but nothing but good press from them since.
