Anyone noticed if the outbound Angels now announce ‘This is the Angel 21 service to Durham & Brandon’ or do they just say Brandon?

RE: Next Stop Announcement Systems - ne14ne1 - 07 Sep 2021

Has anyone been on the Orbit, Rider and Loop recently and noticed if they announce they are purely the above, or if they are the East Gateshead Orbit/Rider/Loop?

They announce 'East Gateshead xxx', but the Sunderland services just say 'Berries', 'Graphite' etc.

Definitely made the right choice leaving out ‘Sunderland District’ from the NSAs.
I think ‘East Gateshead’ should’ve been excluded too so it was less wordy & repetitive, although then ‘Rider’ would’ve sounded odd without it.

As if “East Gateshead Rider Fifty Eight” wasn’t along enough, they unnecessarily include the word ‘service’ too - not unique to this route.

(Mind, you have to pretty much skip to the end of this video to get past the long intro).

Every route says 'x service' - they always have done.

I'm not sure I see or hear the issue in this clip? There haven't been any customer complaints about this, nor any negative feedback from the driving team.

I have been on the 58, and I must say by the end from Gateshead to Heworth I was sick of "This is the east gateshead rider 58 service to heworth".

Also "East Gateshead Rider" ngl I think that is a awful name,  could have been called TyneRider. (Nicer Name)

I realise all announcements include the word ‘service’, and I’d very much doubt customers would feed back on such detail, I was just pointing out it’s an additional unnecessary word that’s been added in from the start.

Services 51/52, 58 and 93/94 are the main routes that form the East Gateshead Bus Alliance. Together, along with the 57, they provide combined headways of up to every 7-8 minutes on common sections of route. Once the current driver shortage settles down and lost mileage is back to normal levels, there will be a joint marketing campaign for these services. This is why they all have the same prefix, 'East Gateshead', along with their 'true' brand names (i.e. Orbit, Loop, etc).

TyneRider may be a nicer name, but it doesn't fit the bill.

Yeah fair. Isn't their meant to be campaigns for Metro-Newcaslte, Seaham-Durham aswell any more?
Also when are the E10's coming for the 57.

We're not in London and don't have to be completely inspired by their system.

Our next stop announcements have a friendlier tone than those used in London, despite it being the same voiceover artist.

At least Go North East is better than Arriva NSA and Stagecoach NSA

The stagecoach one is worse. Gives you a lecture entering Newcastle

Why does it matter that it's better than Arriva and Stagecoach? Its not a competition.

Not saying its a competition. I'm just saying Arriva and Stagecoach nsa have downsides

I've never tries SC's but as I've said before Arriva's sound awful. They sound like they just plonked a mic in front of someone in the office at the end of the day and just got them to read it out. She speaks quickly and quietly, meaning it's hard to actually understand what she's saying.

It doesn't help the fact that the screens rarely work, and the volume is often so low you can't even hear it over the engine.

Speaking of NSA displays not working, it looks like the upstairs LED screen on 6310 isn't working!
