5160 still on road, used around metrocentre if anyone wants last photo, not in service though
4917 is a lovely bus. In my opinion, the only bad Renowns are 5151-5160, 5166 -5171. The only Renowns (which have since been withdrawn) I've had a problem with is the rest of that batch, 5151-65.

In my experience; both 4916 and 4917 are some of the nicest Wright Renowns in the fleet. They're immaculate internally and it doesn't take very long for them to reach a decent speed. Speaking personally, my least favourite of the ''thoroughbred'' (not dual-door) type within the fleet is 4925, and the now-departed 4843 was also horrific. Only endured one journey on 4925, and the seats managed to fall out of place because of the poor brakes slamming on at every halt.

I couldn't agree more. I'd forgotten my journey on 4925. It wasn't my brightest idea.

A renown was taken out of service today at the Metrocentre on service 49A. We had to change buses onto a branded Blaydon Racers citaro.

Just wondered what 3859 is doing at Percy Main because at the minute 6116 or 6117 is on the 434/448

Might be VOR.

I only hate 4916 because it took me to Newcastle airport in July. On my LAST X40 trip. I wanted 8328 or 8329, odd as it sounds but I wanted them to leave a long lasting image of my ex-bus in my mind.

Dan mentioned previously that a Red B9 was allocated to the 434/448 to provide a reliable service after an 'incident' regarding 3859.

3859 is used on the 434/448 on schooldays.
