RE: Go North East - Latest - S813 FVK - 29 Apr 2014 (29 Apr 2014, 4:23 pm)NEBCD Malarkey Thanks Dan, Thought it may of been another one, and is it just me or has whoever painted this also painted over the Front and Rear Lights No but im sure it will be a case of them painting over the protection which stops a specific area from been repainted. RE: Go North East - Latest - Adrian - 29 Apr 2014 (29 Apr 2014, 4:27 pm)NEBCD Malarkey Also note the Connections 4 Citaro 5362 which can seen in the Photo from the Front of 7079 Anything apart from Tyres that a coat of paint isn't intended for, i.e. windows or lights, would be masked. It's not really practical to remove or mask tyres prior to painting, and you can usually gun wash it off anyway. RE: Go North East - Latest - Dan - 29 Apr 2014 8245 is the next vehicle to enter the paintshop - should go in tomorrow providing they got all of the prep done today. I'd assume it's coming out in red! Told you the painters were going to be kept busy, Michael! RE: Go North East - Latest - tyresmoke - 29 Apr 2014 (29 Apr 2014, 8:28 pm)Dan 8245 is the next vehicle to enter the paintshop - should go in tomorrow providing they got all of the prep done today. I'd assume it's coming out in red! Suppose it'll look nice when it's sat in the yard, or indeed at the side of the road Re: RE: Go North East - Latest - Dan - 29 Apr 2014 (29 Apr 2014, 8:32 pm)tyresmoke Suppose it'll look nice when it's sat in the yard, or indeed at the side of the road All of the South Tyne batch have had a lot of work done recently and I'd hope that this will improve the performance of the vehicles. Repainting the vehicles red is a good opportunity for the vehicles to be allocated to a different service too - but I guess we'll have to see what comes of that..! RE: Go North East - Latest - G-CPTN - 29 Apr 2014 (29 Apr 2014, 8:37 pm)Dan Repainting the vehicles red is a good opportunity for the vehicles to be allocated to a different service too - but I guess we'll have to see what comes of that..! Not completely red - there is a white 'stripe' across the front. Re: RE: Go North East - Latest - Dan - 29 Apr 2014 (29 Apr 2014, 8:41 pm)G-CPTN Not completely red - there is a white 'stripe' across the front. 8245 hasn't even been repainted yet - where you getting this white stripe from? RE: Go North East - Latest - G-CPTN - 29 Apr 2014 (29 Apr 2014, 8:41 pm)Dan 8245 hasn't even been repainted yet - where you getting this white stripe from? https://www.flickr.com/photos/emdjt42/14062058702/ RE: Go North East - Latest - Dan - 29 Apr 2014 (29 Apr 2014, 8:45 pm)G-CPTN https://www.flickr.com/photos/emdjt42/14062058702/ That's 7079, not 8245? 7079's repaint was originally noted here four days ago. It was confirmed by me that this repaint was being done to the coaches to introduce a new driver training livery, instead of the current mis-match of various coloured coaches. We've now moved onto 8245, the latest vehicle to arrive at Saltmeadows for repaint. 8245 only arrived at Saltmeadows this afternoon (having previously been at Riverside for maintenance work alongside most of the other vehicles in the "South Tyne" batch). I've suggested that this vehicle will be repainted red (corporate livery) tomorrow, providing all of the prep got done today. RE: Go North East - Latest - G-CPTN - 29 Apr 2014 (29 Apr 2014, 8:48 pm)Dan That's 7079, not 8245?Sorry, I'm not keeping up - I've been out all day . . . I think the white stripe looks nice - it relieves the overall red of the old 'Northern' livery and is reminiscent of the 'Northumbria' brand. RE: Go North East - Latest - Dan - 29 Apr 2014 (29 Apr 2014, 8:50 pm)G-CPTN Sorry, I'm not keeping up - I've been out all day . . . Haha, completely different topic now! So many vehicles get repainted, it's often hard to keep up! RE: Go North East - Latest - Michael - 29 Apr 2014 (29 Apr 2014, 8:28 pm)Dan 8245 is the next vehicle to enter the paintshop - should go in tomorrow providing they got all of the prep done today. I'd assume it's coming out in red! , they are Wonder if the 5 will ever be branded as South Tyne again or they just gonna keep it as Northern RE: Go North East - Latest - Diamond One - 30 Apr 2014 (29 Apr 2014, 9:28 pm)Michael , they are i think it is going red myself that will be the last cadets that is no longer route branded probs will look something like this but with 5 on the blind with Jarrow and all of its places it has served RE: Go North East - Latest - DanPicken - 30 Apr 2014 it will basicly look like the merits on daily RE: Go North East - Latest - Diamond One - 30 Apr 2014 3941 is on X9 it has returned to its routes for the 1st time since it was moved to Winlaton RE: Go North East - Latest - S813 FVK - 30 Apr 2014 Don't know if its just me as the angle of the photo isn't great but 546 looks to have had its off-side Venture logo removed at the back: https://www.flickr.com/photos/bazza1990/14046462976/ RE: Go North East - Latest - Malarkey - 30 Apr 2014 (30 Apr 2014, 3:18 pm)Robert Don't know if its just me as the angle of the photo isn't great but 546 looks to have had its off-side Venture logo removed at the back: Yeah it's been removed RE: Go North East - Latest - minibus1474 - 30 Apr 2014 (29 Apr 2014, 9:28 pm)Michael , they are Probably will be left as 'red', as a regularly 5 driver has told me 2 weeks ago that nexus were unhappy about the amount breakdowns, which was leading to a lot of mileage lost due to length of time it takes Riverside to attend. The solution, he had been told, was swop the cadets for the ex pulse b10's, which are much more reliable. The cadets would then be used at riverside on 67/69 and 95/96/64, meaning that when a breakdown occurs, riverside could attend much quicker. |
