Passing my house on Scholars service 805 around half 3. It may have just been on loan to Washington to cover a decker which should have been allocated to that specific service RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2015 - Dan - 30 Jun 2015 (30 Jun 2015, 4:07 pm)South Tyne Lad wrote It was definitely used at Washington. Corrected myself, it was 3864 RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2015 - Adrian - 30 Jun 2015 Managed to see the NSAs in action on the Lime earlier, for the first time. Pretty impressive. I still rate these LED displays over the full screens. I think the message is a lot more clear to the passenger, no matter where they're sat on the vehicle, and the volume seems to be spot on too - I'm normally first to whinge if it's not! Question though - where the 'next stop' is close/approaching, and the display changes to the two line mode, does the date/time on the second line change if the bell has been pressed? i.e. to display 'Bus Stopping' or something similar? I was wondering on my way over Washington tonight, and forgot to take note when it came to me pressing the bell... I'm quite a fan of the announcements too. I was on a 46 Streetlite heading into Newcastle and we had just passed Clayton Street when the announcements played "The next stop is Consett Front Street" ...... a slight blip I imagine RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2015 - citaro5284 - 30 Jun 2015 (30 Jun 2015, 6:26 pm)aureolin wrote Managed to see the NSAs in action on the Lime earlier, for the first time. Not yet - As you know this is the first time we have had the LED displays so its a bit of trial and error to see what we want. We can have it so when the bell is pressed is says Bus Stopping or Bus Stopping at ........ It just needs a bit of programming but we are concentrating on Quaylink and Peterlee NSA's for the new vehicles at the moment. Actually we are trying something new for us on Quaylink - let the Next Stop system automatically change the destinations RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2015 - citaro5284 - 30 Jun 2015 (30 Jun 2015, 6:36 pm)Sidthebusbabe wrote I'm quite a fan of the announcements too. Maybe the driver has changed his destination too early, so it has gone to the end of the list of the outbound trip. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2015 - S813 FVK - 30 Jun 2015 I'd love to know why 3813 was withdrawn rather than something like 3814 or 3832. It has no problems with it other than two of its destinations don't work. By far the best Olympian in the fleet even for one of the oldest. Although remember, it did donate one of its doors to a Fab57 Renown (cant remember which one but i think it may have been 5171?) Although remember, it did donate one of its doors to a Fab57 Renown (cant remember which one but i think it may have been 5171?) Yes, it was salvaged for spare parts. But, on the bright side of things, that did allow the lives of other examples to be prolonged. Although I'm not sure if it did sign any of the documentation allowing for it's organs to be donated, hmm... Yeah, it's ''Easy Access'' logo went to the door of a ''Fab57'' branded example. I think it was indeed 5171. Maybe whoever decides which buses get withdrawn read this forum and where sick of seeing your two's love stories to these buses RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - June 2015 - busmanT - 30 Jun 2015 (28 Jun 2015, 8:54 pm)Sidthebusbabe wrote What's the average MPG of a modern double decker? Haven't spotted this already answered - Trident does just less than 6 mpg, B7/President just over 6 mpg, B9 around 7 mpg, hybrid B5 do almost 9 mpg (but cost 50% more to buy).
