Looks pretty genuine - even if just on a trailer! RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Bus_User - 12 May 2015 (12 May 2015, 5:28 pm)Tommy_1581 wrote Meanwhile.... 4001 sits in SG looking like a mess. Wonder if they're holding 4001 back ready to couple to 4002. You keep saying 4001 looks a 'mess' but when I passed it yesterday, it looked fine too me. You got to remember, apart from the lower end front end, it has not had a repaint since 2005 so it will hardly look 'fresh' RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Dan - 13 May 2015 (12 May 2015, 10:29 pm)Bus_User wrote You keep saying 4001 looks a 'mess' but when I passed it yesterday, it looked fine too me. Both it and 4002 are looking incredibly dated and tatty. Tattiness aside, I thought looking dated would partially add to the nostaligic appeal held by 4001/4002. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Bus_User - 13 May 2015 (13 May 2015, 5:11 am)Dan wrote I had wondered when it was last repainted last time I saw it. 4002 has had its current(out of date) livery since 2002 I believe, exclusing the yellow doors of course which is a more recent thing. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - omnicity4659 - 14 May 2015 Signalling problems - delays across entire network. Some trains are currently terminating at Bede, to allow the Metro immediately behind it continue through to South Shields. Currently got an email sent to Nexus to ask if they've got any places left on the Metro railtour... RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Michael - 15 May 2015 Good start to a Friday morning! Tyne and Wear Metro 31 mins · There are no trains running between Park Lane and South Hylton in both directions, this is due to a technical fault. We will update you once we have more information. Tyne and Wear Metro Just now · Service has now resumed and trains are running between Park Lane and South Hylton in both directions but are subject to delays of up to 15 mins. This was due to a points failure. Please leave extra time for your journey RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Dan - 18 May 2015 Seems to be some issues near Sunderland towards South Hylton... The boards have stated the next Metro is due in 20 minutes for the past 10 minutes! RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Dan - 18 May 2015 The bell which usually sounds before a stop is announced is continuously ringing on 4038. If there's anything worse than Next Stop Announcements, it's broken Next Stop Announcements! A number of trains are having issues with the screens being defective, too, with an example taken this morning on 4012 attached. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Dan - 18 May 2015 Whichever Emirates train is paired to refurbed 4026 is currently at Pelaw heading to South Hylton, for those wanting photos. Sadly the doors are still one of the scruffiest things about the Metrocar... Do you know how often the Metros are washed, as the same dirt has been on this one now for over a month? It is still paired with the old Emirates Metrocar today - on the 0714 journey to Airport from Stadium of Light. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Michael - 19 May 2015 Great, i was going to get the Metro!!!! Tyne and Wear Metro 3 mins · There are delays of up to 25 mins between St James and South Shields , up to 15 mins between Airport and South Hylton, this is due to a failed train. Looks like I got lucky, then! 4002 is running on-time; dirt and horrible prototype doors aside, I am still of the opinion that it seems to be one of the smoother runners. Do you know how often the Metros are washed, as the same dirt has been on this one now for over a month? Whenever they go through the train wash but too me, its not getting a proper wash because from the videos you see on the internet of the process, it goes through the sprays, then through the scrubber things then get sprayed again which then dries out and still leaves the grub behind. Its a more rarity that metrocars get actual hand washes which is more effective. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Dan - 19 May 2015 Front door on 4062 'A' on the nearside (the other side to the driver) is knackered. One side of the door works and the other refuses to open. 4066 has the new Next Stop Announcements - hopefully this is an example not previously reported. I know a couple of days ago, all trains to the Airport were being operated out of platform 2 out of sunderland because of issues with the points or something so this will cause minor delays as in most cases, the South Hylton train has to clear before the train towards the Airport can arrive and depart from Sunderland. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - omnicity4659 - 23 May 2015 I'm led to believe that the Metrocar refurbishment programme has been completed. |
